Advantages: Quality, Service Disadvantages: Rather small seating area
The Summer Palace Restaurant is situated in the heart of Llandaff City opposite the cathedral.
Parking is plentiful and free.
Reservations are almost always necessary as it is a very small restaurant and can get very busy.
The seating area in the bar is rather small and can get a bit cramped on a busy night, but if you have booked, there won't be a long wait until your table is ready. In the winter they put the 'coal' fire on to keep you cosy.
... ...you browse the menu and your order is taken before you are ushered to your table.
The menu doesn't stray far from an average chinese restaurant menu, but the quality is second to none. A little pricey, but you get what you pay for.
The tables are draped in spotless white linen and they are candle lit with fresh flowers.
If it's your birthday, don't forget to mention it, you will have a complimentary birthday cake with candles and the staff sing ...
