Advantages: Great day out for the family, specially for the under 10s Disadvantages: A bit jaded in places, not the healthiest food on offer
...so many good things about Sundown since we moved to the East Midlands in the summer , we had been looking forward to making our first trip for a while now. Originally we'd planned to go the first weekend in December for my birthday but at the last minute my good lady fell ill with a tummy bug, and as it was a chilly sort of a day anyway we decided to wait for another opportunity. Having broken up for Christmas, and being lucky enough to have completed ... ...==All about Sundown==
Sundown adventure land has been running for around 40 years now and the first thing to note is that it's specifically designed for the under 10s. Finding it is pretty straightforward, it's signposted all the way, not far from Retford off the A1, take the A57 to Lincoln, and then look for the brown signs. There's a very straightforward entrance fee, with the exception of free entry for the under 2's, it's basically £8.50 per ...

Advantages: Family orientated fun day out Disadvantages: Catering facilities
Sundown Adventureland is a childrens theme park in Nottinghamshire. Its about 30 minutes down the road from where I live in Doncaster. It used to be known as Pets Corner and although I can't remember, I believe I went on a school trip as a kid. A friend of mine told me about how she used to take her daughter there every Christmas to see Santa and how its a great place for the kids. I put it to the back of my mind until I found myself with kids and ... ...Dunham on the A57.

Advantages: Ideal for small kids, with lots of themed activities & rides to keep them happy Disadvantages: Food could be better
...day.
We have visited Sundown before in Summer too and it was equally enjoyed. They seem to cater for different seasons and events quite well too; Halloween, Guy Fawkes night etc. The layout of the park is designed with different distinct themed areas, with only a very short walk inbetween each. Overall the size of the park is not huge and so for children, and possibly elderly grandparents the walking should be quite manageable. On entering the main ... ...nice gentle start to the Sundown experience with a pleasant relaxing atmosphere to it. None of the rides here are any more than gentle though anyway, which is of course the whole idea for young children. The first real noticeable themed area is "Cowboy Street", set out like a mini Wild West. It works very well too. Along the street the kids can run in and out of various interactive staged facilities such as an old American Bank, a Mail Room, even ...

Advantages: Great theme park for the younger members of the family Disadvantages: Some queues but they move quite quickly
One of the best theme parks for younger children this place is so magical especially at christmas, with so much to do.My older children are teenagers and cant wait to use my toddler son as an excuse to visit again, the santa ride is a must for children and adults alike. The park is spread over a large area but you dont notice how far you walk as there is so much to see and do, we particularly like the santa ride(the little mice on the way through are ... ...families in real life setups) you really need to see this.We also like the soft play area indoors,a jungle area for older ones, bouncy castles, soft areas for tinies,a cafe for adults. There are lots of live shows to see, a runaway train, fort area, plenty of park areas, a tractor ride the list is endless. There are cafes dotted around but plenty of picnic areas too.At Christmas children can visit Santa (a small extra charge is payable around £2.00 per ...
