    Advantages Advantages A thrilling ride on the desert dunes--unsurpassable for enjoyment.

    Disadvantages Disadvantages the seatbelts in the vehicles may have undergone a bit of wear and tear.

    This has indeed been an experience of a lifetime. At around 3pm we set out with our very friendly Arab Driver in a 4X4. He wore the traditional Arab attire and used no footwear( which we later realised is more comfortable than trainers in the Arab desert). We were a group of six passengers in the 4X4. There was a drive of about half an hour until we reached the desert proper. There is a kind of resting station where all the drivers taking tourists stop, prior to entering the sands and dunes.     Advantages Advantages Very good dinner, experienced drivers, reasonable price.

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Camels kept in an enclosure and rides not included in the price.

    I paid 160dhs per person for this trip in July 2010, booked via a travel agent in the emirate of Ajman. I believe it can be booked via most travel agents in the Dubai area, probably for the same price. We were picked up from our requested location in Ajman by a 4x4 driven by a member of the tour staff, at around 4pm in the afternoon, and then driven for approximately 30-45 minutes into the desert outback.
