Advantages: Good disco Disadvantages: Poor food, expensive
FIrstly, I have not stayed here, but been here as party of a hen night.
The hotel is easy to get to, both by car and taxi, it does not appear to be easy to get to by bus or train (but then I have not tried). I was welcomed by the Reception staff upon entering the building and it was very warm and comfortable. After meeting friends, we went into the main hall (for want of a better word!). We had a table set aside for the hen party, but I felt very ... ...in this room, all rather close together.
The drinks at the bar, were rather reasonably priced, much like in a pub and what a bonus - no queue! At the table, no drinks were provided and we had to keep going up to the bar to buy our own which was disappointing - not even a waiter to take our drinks order.
The food which we had pre ordered from a short menu weeks before, came out slowly. I had the breaded mushrooms to start and they were simply delicious ...

Advantages: It isn't the Green Man, which is just around the corner Disadvantages: The menu is a bit ordinary
Sometimes, when I have to visit the head office of the company I work for I have to stay here, as Harlow is rather a long way from home. The kindest thing I can say about the Churchgate is that it isn't the Green Man, the other place in Harlow where the company puts its staff up. That place is truly horrible and the subject of another of my reviews.
When we hear that the Green man is full and we have to go to the Churchgate it is usually a relief. ... ...but if we have to it is better to stay here.
On arrival you will be checked in by an efficient if somewhat disinterested receptionist who will provide you with a key and a number and dismiss you from the desk. The rooms are just like the rooms you get in any commercial hotel so need little description from me. If you want to know more look at any travelodge or similar branded hostel for the weary. The bar has an average range of drinks, being Essex ...
