Szeged (Hungary)

This is a lovely city situated in the south east of Hungary close to the Yugoslavian and Romanian borders. It is within easy travelling distance from Budapest by train - if arriving by plane take the airport bus from the airport ( current cost 180 HUF approx 50p) to Kobanya Kispest railway station (last stop for the bus so don't worry about where to get off!) then go to platform 4 to catch the train to Szeged. To be honest I visit Szeged around 5 times a year and I spend at least a month of my holiday in the summer there! I just love it From Budapest there is a highway straight to Szeged (approx. 1:30 hour drive). If you dont want to go by car, no problem there is train from west station EVERY HOUR (intercity cabins with airconditioning for very decent price 10-15 euros). Or you can take a coash which leaves 4-6 times a day from Népliget main station in budapest. Serbia there is easy access too, you can take the highway start to Hungary.
