We have always stayed at the VILA GALE Hotel See Seperate Review.
This year we payed 114 Euros for 3 nights Double Room with large Buffet Breakfast (Approx £14 per night per person)
As said Tavira is not Large.
The Hotel is located Near the River, and there is a large Modern Market just behind the Hotel. This sells Fresh Produce and is also the Fish Market. It is well worth a stroll around, and you ... ...the Large Church that Dominates Tavira, well worth a Visit the inside walls a mass of Blue And White Tiles showing biblical scenes.
Next to the Church is the remains of a Small Castle area with a lovely small garden.
Next to this is the Water Tower which also houses a Camera Obscurer (sorry for spelling), it was not open the day we went up.
But The View from up here across Tavira to the Coast is stunning.

Advantages: Not for the package holiday 18 - 25. Disadvantages: We have told you about it.........................
We have just been to Tavira, it is our 3rd visit in 5 years.
Our first visit was like a breath of fresh air as I had just lost my brother on Christmas Day and my brother-in-law on New Years Day.
We had booked to go well before our losses, and flew off with saddened heart.
If you require peace, quiet and restfulness then this is the place to go.
Catch the little ferry out to the sand split and walk, walk, walk. We have never got to the end of ... ...that sort of invite.
Tavira, has a lot to offer, just strolling around visit the Tower of Tavira. This is an old water tower that is being used to view the whole city/town. It uses two mirror lenses which have been installed inside the tower at the top and you have a big screen and a 360 degree view, quiet inspirational all for 3-50 euro.
The Tower is next to a wonderful church, greja de Santa Maria with a clock tower and a face on each facet. ...
