Advantages: Weeellll if you're there then I guess you really should see them Disadvantages: Not the right place to go if pyramids are what you want.
So you're in Mexico City. Everyone is talking about Teotihuacan, the pyramids. You're probably very excited to go. I had already been to see the pyramid down in the Yucatan at Chichen Itza so I know that I really wanted more.

Advantages: Incredible, breathtaking Disadvantages: Very hot, lot of walking in the Sun!
Teotihuacan is breathtaking, as soon as you walk onto the sight, you are overawed by the size of the pyramids.
It is worth getting a guide to explain everything to you as the site is so huge, and there is a lot of interesting history and explanations about the site (good descriptions in the review above).
Some practical stuff - it's cheaper to get a second class bus that Mexicans use than a tourist bus, these go from the Eastern bus station.
