An art gallery reception, rooms by Ikea

AdvantagesVery central location, good service

DisadvantagesSmall rooms, small breakfast dining room, expensive

"...into a modern art gallery. The large open reception space has a number of statues dotted around the reception and a number of visual electronic artworks (i.e. video displays) projected onto the walls behind reception and onto the glass waterfall at the main entrance. This 4 star hotel has recently had a major refurbishment. The hotel is ideally situated for a shopping break, being just across from Marble Arch at the Hyde Park end of Oxford Street. ..." Best Hotel In London With Cheapest 4 Course Dinner!

AdvantagesCentral location, under £10 for early bird carvery, luxury

Disadvantagesnone whatsoever

"...found that haggling works!) The Cumberland is situated in Marble Arch on the top end of Oxford street - probably one of the most central hotels in London. Most places are walkable but if your feet get easily tired it's about a 30 second walk to Marble Arch tube station or the hotel has comissionaires to hail your your own personal taxi! THE HOTEL As you step into the hotel you know that it is something special, the lobby is huge with a large seating ..." Read review

Nothing spectacular

Advantageslocation

Disadvantagesno atmosphere

"...more used to London. The hotel is on the corner of Hyde Park near Speakers corner and the tube is really close as well. It is very easy to find as it is clearly signposted and there are lots of restaurants and bars close to it so if you are out for a night on the town you don’t have to spend time and money on public transport or taxis. Decor The reception to the hotel is vast and a bit like an aircraft hanger. It is very empty but very “arty” ..." Read review

Looks nice on the website....

AdvantagesSoft beds, high-speed internet, friendly staff

DisadvantagesNoisy at weekends, below average housekeeping

"The Cumberland is easy to find, the staff are helpful, and the rooms are clean. However there are a couple of faults. Upon arriving at the hotel, I was told that my room had been double booked, but they decided to grant me a free upgrade. All good except that my room was now above the hotels nightclub, and I had to put up with booming music until 3am. That said, I did manage to have a wonderful sleep after it finished, and awoke feeling refreshed. ..." Read review
