...known as having some of the best night life in the UK I thought it would be worth giving my opinion on what my personal favourite in the the city is! The Garage is situated on Sauchihall Street in the city centre just before you get to Charing Cross.The entrance is not very big but you can't miss it because it has a great big yellow truck above it. The club actually opens at about 10.30 however it is usually very quiet untill half past eleven as up to that point you can only stand about in one of the bars untill they open up the main dance floor. Without a flyer from one of the pubs, the cover charge is pretty decent. I might not be the best person to review this place because im a student, and living in Glasgow this is usually where i end up every thursday night! Anyway the Garage is situated at 490 Sauchiehall Street (Glasgow)thats the Charing Cross end by the way, and is probably classed as a student club. Basically, it costs around £5 for non-students and £3/4 for students (with ID) Sundays to Thursdays. On a Friday and Saturday its around £8 for non-students ...
...On entering the Garage, you will probably wait ages in the queue - thats because its always so busy (especially thursdays!!). The bouncers insist on seeing some form of ID - preferably student ID on designated nights - so be prepared and always have it ready (they hate time-wasters). The Garage is ideally situated for clubbers who like a drink before hand at The Charing Cross end of Sauchiehall Street. You would notice it from the rather unpleasant yellow truck sticking out of the wall above the door. Let's start at the door - five bouncers all staring down the girls tops and wanting to fight with all the boys. ...you are a student. The club is split into two - Downstairs is a vast room with 3 bars, places to sit and a large dance floor. It plays chart dance music, so prepare for Steps, Britney, Robbie and all that stuff. Upstairs is not open every night, but when it is, it's much smaller, but you are less likey to be punched or involved in a fight. I went to the Garage for the first time a couple of weeks ago and DAM it has to be the most overrated club Ive ever had the displeasure of going to. The garage or the shack, the classic glasgow student night out dilema, which to choose? The answer is it doesnt really matter, you will find pretty much the same, mostly student, type people there, you will here the same, mostly chart rubbish, music there and you will likeley be just as intoxicated when you leave. ...at least more variety than the shack, with differnt rooms playing 'different' music you can at least go get a drink in the 'rock' G2 if your not loving the cheesey rubbish in the main room. the club is looking a lot better after the re-launch but still has the slighly grubby sticky feel to it. The Garage in Sauchiehall Street is a great night out. It is situated at the charing cross end of glasgow. The best night at the garage is a Thursday, where entrance is about £3-£4. This can end up being one of the best, and cheapest nights out you can have. A vodka mixer is only 50p on thursday. Student city! The garage is full of students. A few bars scattered around the place. One very large dance hall with a bar, a tiny upstairs in that hall again, with a bar. An upstairs smaller dance hall again with a bar. There are a few more bars scattered around the place. The music is a mixture of the odd 70s and 80s tune, mostly 90s music. If you study in Glasgow, it is more than likely that you will know a few people in the place, wall to wall ...

THe garage is a good lively club, cheap drink and loud music to suit everyone...its a big mix of styles but you dont notice when your drunk, its good! i must say the bouncers were superb last week....i was absoloutly totally completly wrecked and they got me home safe! The females can be quite impressive but not in they're largest numbers...nor are the most flirtatious or outrages....not very upfront....and thats on a MONDAY?? Anyway get yourself ...
