Advantages: Great staff, Great food, Great surroundings
Disadvantages: The drink, not much to see if you don't dive or snorkel

...a man made resort on the red sea coast and is basically just one straight road in the desert, running parrallel with the coast, with the airport in the middle and then many hotels either side of it. The hotels themselves are more like mini resorts than just hotels, and are either on the sea side of the road with sea frontage or the desert side with none but access to a beach over the road. Advantages: Cheap and lovely atmosphere
Disadvantages: Too much entertainment

...Europe would be out of the question (the euro!) and we wanted to go somewhere popular so that we knew we wouldn’t be wasting our money. We finally decided Sharm El Sheikh in Egypt as we’d never been there before, it would be nice and hot in May and we could afford it.
