Advantages: 5 star luxury Disadvantages: Super expensive!
...offered me a week at the Lowry Hotel in Manchester I jumped at the chance.
I had seen the Lowry in the papers many times - the Man City players had a Christmas party there and David Beckham stays there when he is in Manchester. And not suprising as it is the only 5* hotel in Manchester. Car Park:
There is a specific built car park for the hotel with barrier that requires a coin from the reception to get out to ensure no one else parks there. It ... ...I dragged my suitcase along the car park the concierge was quick to send someone out to help me he was warm and helpful and pointed me in the direction of the beautifully modern reception desk. As I entered the glass fronted building the marble floor and funkily lit area had stairs heading towards the bar and restaurant, the desk on the left and the lifts to the room on the right. The process was quick and easy to sign in and I was shown to my room ...

Advantages: Rub shoulders with the stars, superior service Disadvantages: Pricey, but totally worth it !, plus you have to pay for car parking £10 per night
The Lowry Hotel is the only 5 star hotel in Manchester, and Wow. The whole place is just fantastic, I went on a paid for work do and have saved up to go back twice since. The rooms start from about £180 per night for room only, and breakfast is on top, they do deals however if you ring them or go on the website. The rooms themselves are spacious and minimal furnishings, very smart, with enormous beds, and gorgous views, The whole experience is pure ... ...I don't !)
As it's the only 5 star hotel, all the footballers playing at the Trafford, and any groups playing in Manchester stay here, I saw the moody Pink at the bar, and him from cold feet, shame Justin, and Kylie both stayed here when they toured. The bar serves fantastic Champagne cocktails, as a Jazz singer plays on the piano, the restaraunt is superb, and I even saw Gordon Ramsea, shooing waiters around the place. The Marco Pierre White restarant ...

Advantages: Superb service, rooms & facilities - a great hotel Disadvantages: None
I'm the first to admit that I've got champagne tastes with a brown ale income! But sometimes you have to save up and splash out for that little bit of luxury.

We thought we'd do it in style and, after a four-hour trek up the motorway, arrived at the magnificent Lowry hotel - the only five-star hotel in the city.
The doorman was wearing a top hap ... ...the glass doors.
A good start.
Inside, the reception area is clean and polished, with tasteful artefacts and ornaments dotted around and very helpful staff behind the reception desk.
We were offered help with our luggage, which we declined, and made our way to our room.
And it was fantastic.
Beautifully designed furniture, an enormous double bed, classy bathroom, extensive free refreshments - and a beautiful view over the river to the back of ...

Advantages: Excellent Facilities, Brilliant Location, Helpful Staff Disadvantages: Not for someone who isn't prepared to spend a lot of money
The Lowry Hotel is in my opinion the best hotel ever. Built only a couple of years ago, it offers fantastic facilities in a bright modern building with fantastic design. The hotel is situated in Manchesters deansgate district, and although located officially in Salford it is a short walk over the river Irwell to the bright lights of Manchester.
The hotel is owned by Rocco Forte Hotels and all of the design is overseen by Olga Polizzi (Sir Rocco's ... ...interesting sculptures and artwork around the building (especially the statue of LS Lowry in the lobby. The reception staff are corteous and helpful and the brilliant concierges are on hand to help you with your luggage and tasks such as theatre tickets in Manchester.
