Advantages: Recently refitted Disadvantages: They forgot the health club!
Recently stayed in The Midland for one night, and was pleasantly surprised by the recent refurbishment it's undergone. Having not been to this hotel for a couple of years, the changes have really breathed some life back into what had been a crumbling relic.
The room was very nice, a good size, and well fitted in terms of what was available and space, as was the bathroom. One complaint I would have was that the mini-bar automatically charges you ... ...didn't dine in either of the two hotel restaurants - The French and The Colony - but they both looked ok, and the buffet breakfast, served in The Colony, was the best I've had at any hotel for a good few years. A good selection of cereals and fruit as well as a selection of standard hot items, which were hot and weren't greasy - which seems quite an achievement in hotels at the moment.
