My favourite museum in London

Advantages: learning was never so much fun - free entrance - amazing museum
Disadvantages: could be crowded... that's all

...of my favourite museums in the World. Whenever I'm in London I try to visit it. The museum is in a "cathedral" building. This creation was deliberately designed by Alfred Waterhouse to inspire awe... and it does. It's even hard to photograph because it's very big compared to the surrounding area. The elaborate Romanesque style is impressive as the giant cast of Diplodocus skeleton in the main hall of the Life Galleries. This museum makes learning ...
...tree slice on top of the stairs in the hall which dates from 557 to 1892 when the sequoia sadly fell at the age of 1335! There is a section entirely dedicated to our beloved planet Earth. The entrance to this gallery is portentous: you travel via an escalator, passing through a giant suspended globe and twinkling images of the star system. It leads straight into a noisy gallery called Restless Surface, whose most famous exhibit is a mock-up of a ...

Learning is definately fun at this museum

Advantages: Free, Child friendly, Amazing exhibits, lots to do
Disadvantages: Can be quite crowded

...to. That place would be the Natural History Museum in South Kensington, London. I recently went to London for a weekend to go sightseeing and this place was top of my list of priorities. Back when I was a small child my dad took me to this museum, however except for seeing all the amazing things I never took much in, however now I am old enough to read I was astounded at the origin of the fossils and exhibits I was looking at. Not living in London ...
...where it was and got the tube. It has it’s own tube exit, which leads you practically to the front door of the museum. Excellent, if like me, you don’t know where you are going. I was also amazed and pleased to discover that the museum is now free to enter for everyone. I feel that learning should be free. However this also means hat the museum attracts a lot of people so I suggest you go during the week. Also the museum opens at 11.00am ...

Great day out in the City!

Advantages: Very impressive exhibitions - check out the dinosaurs!
Disadvantages: Lots of walking to do (very large museum)

The Natural History Museum is, in my opinion, one of the best days out in London. I went there about 3 months ago with my girlfriend. She had only been to London a couple of times since she lives abroad so we did the tourist thing and headed to the city. I was hoping to look round both the NHM (Natural History Museum) and the science museum next door, however when I got there I realised that the museum was so vast that I could have easily spent a ...
...example in 'life' you have the dinosaur gallery. My advice would be to look at the guide once you get inside, and pick the galleries you want to go to, then do those first. Otherwise you might find you've run out of time. The dinosaur gallery is my favourite one, here you will find many life-sized models of dinosaurs, and you can learn about the different species, and how they evolved. Another gallery worth a look are the "the power within", which ...
