Advantages: learning was never so much fun - free entrance - amazing museum Disadvantages: could be crowded... that's all
...of my favourite museums in the World. Whenever I'm in London I try to visit it.
The museum is in a "cathedral" building. This creation was deliberately designed by Alfred Waterhouse to inspire awe... and it does. It's even hard to photograph because it's very big compared to the surrounding area. The elaborate Romanesque style is impressive as the giant cast of Diplodocus skeleton in the main hall of the Life Galleries.
This museum makes learning ... ...tree slice on top of the stairs in the hall which dates from 557 to 1892 when the sequoia sadly fell at the age of 1335!
There is a section entirely dedicated to our beloved planet Earth. She had only been to London a couple of times since she lives abroad so we did the tourist thing and headed to the city. My advice would be to look at the guide once you get inside, and pick the galleries you want to go to, then do those first. Otherwise you might find you've run out of time. The dinosaur gallery is my favourite one, here you will find many life-sized models of dinosaurs, and you can learn about the different species, and how they evolved. Another gallery worth a look are the "the power within", which ...
