...has to be one of the hardest reviews of a hotel I have written. Why? Because normally I end up in a marvellous hotel with superb facilities and staff or a true dump of a place with mouldy bathrooms and no service at all. I do not like giving 3 stars with reviews as it doesn't really give a good indication as to whether the hotel is good or bad, but in this case I am forced too. There were no major problems with this hotel, nothing to make me recommended ... ...I used expeida.co.uk to get the best deal I could find on this hotel. Although Expedia often provide great flight and hotel packages, it can be difficult to establish how much you actually paid for each part of the trip. In this case, there were three adults travelling together from London Heathrow to JFK in New York with American Airlines. The stay was for four nights, room only at The Roosevelt Hotel in early June 2006. As a package, we paid £480 ...

...went to New York for the first time back in Jan 07 checked out a few websites for the complete deal at this point the Roosevelt was the special on most of the websites, I stayed for 8 nights and got 2 of them nights for free due to a promotion which was running at the time.
On arrival at the hotel one of the many baggage men arranged to take out bags to our room...first time in visiting the US I will put this down to experience, it is much easier to make your own way to the room and also saving yourself a few bucks in the process.
The Room was of good size, enough to fit everything in, I would say that of the rooms which I seen, it appears to be a bit dated and in need of updating it felt quite comfortable after unpacking and watching a bit of american tv, the hotel ...

...is a good choice for the private individual taking, say, a short break in the big apple. It is centrally located in mid manhatten and this post is intended to help you get the most from your stay. You must ensure that when you book you get a specific room number allocated at the time of booking - this will allow you to know exactly the size and position and standard of the room
It is a big hotel - very big - so avoid a room near the elevator (so ... ...Likewise, check the bed arrangement - I prefer a twin room - they give you and your partner far more space usually for your bucks - and in mid manhatten size is everything! - this piece of mid new york is very very expensive - so a good room does not come cheap either! ...

Advantages: Clean, Spacious, Glamour Disadvantages: You should be 'wowing' at the city not the hotel
...finding a quality hotel on the 10th December ready for the 22nd I though would be beyond me but I was so wrong.
Upon arriving at the hotel you are in awe of the decor, the lobby is amazing, impeccable marble floor which portrays a real chunk of glamour and splendour, the door staff could not have been more welcoming and warm sending you on your way out into Manhattan and welcoming you back in from the cold. The hotel was very busy, the staff remaining ... ...in that it featured in the film Maid In Manhattan with Jeniffer Lopez, (its the 2nd Hotel she works in nearer the end of the film.)
We found the hotel to be in decent walking distance to most of the nearest attractions, afterall that is why you are in New York, a brilliant Hotel is just a bonus! Should walking be a bug bear of yours the doorstaff whistle down a cab for you and seem to be a class above the nearby Hotels in that cabbies listen to ...

I decided to book the Roosevelt Hotel after looking at many travel brochures for different hotels, I decided on the Roosevelt because it was fairly cheap and looked nice in appearence, it was also pretty close to Times Square, I think it was only two/ three blocks away, and Grand Central Station was just round the corner.
There are taxis parked outside all day long waiting for you to get in and take you wherever you want to go, whether it was the ... ...I went one afternoon).
The hotel itself- The hotel is very grand and decorated very old as it is like stepping back in time. The lobby is beautiful in the old style decor. We didn't have to wait for long at the front desk to be seen to and before long we were off in the lift upto out room.
The room- I was very disappointed when we got into our room, first of all we had asked for a city view and all we got was to look at what looked like the back ...
