...quaint suuroundings, and won't break the bank then The Roundhay Fox is the place to go. Situated at the North End of Roundhay Park opposite the Tropical World tourist attraction this is a pub with character. When you enter this converted 17th century coach-house you can feel the charcater of its old buildings. With chairs, tables, and benches made out of old oak, you really get the feel of the history of the place. This pub places an emphasis on ... ...as they aren't cordoned off. The food is the main subject of this opinion.
You order at the end of the bar and can order food and drinks at the same time. You are given a wooden spoon with a number on and this acts as your table number. They also give you the option of keeping open a tab.

Quick review of The Roundhay Fox (Leeds)
Very poor. Food poor. Staff dozy with one exception. Toilet stank (old vomit caked on the cubicle wall!) general cleanliness poor. Lazy in every way due to its proximity to Roundhay Park and the knowledge that it will always be busy! Not like other Vintage Inns we have visited. See link below

Quick review of The Roundhay Fox (Leeds)
when we got there we were greeted by open fires and a lovely surronding, it got worse then. Wine tasted watered down and had to ask for a replacement, veg and potatoe turned up cold and had to ask for it to be warmed up again. when the food came back the potatoe had a finger mark in it as if the chef had tested the warmth himself. There was also a foreign body in the game pie. when we told them we are not willing to pay for the meal, there was no apologie, but they did take the meal off our bill
wouldnt recommend ...

The food is always fresh, tasty, and the portions are generous. The service is efficient and polite.

The pub is located opposite Canal gardens/Tropical world near Roundhay park.
It is a stone flagged, log fire type of traditional pub, with no music playing, it is primarily a eaterie ,but, has a large drinking area (no kids after 7).
Its clientel are of a mixed age group, and mainly proffesional types, ...

Advantages: delicious food great atmosphere Disadvantages: NONE that I can think of!
...is great! Lets start from the basics then...The actual pub is great wonderfully decorated to create a relaxed environment. When it's chilly outside they light up several olde worlde log fires and in summer the doors open and there is a small beer garden. The drinks are reasonablly priced and in cold weather there is a selection of hot wine. Food is the main selling point. A bit more expensive than your average pub meal but they do not serve average ... ...and everything lovely, from the more common fish and chips (which is lovely) to hock of ham and mustard sauce which is also very nice indeed. Average meal is about 6 - 7 pound and well worth it. Roundhay park is just next door so you can go for a nice a fter dinner stroll to burn off some of that desert you were tempted with. ...

Advantages: handy if you live in roundhay Disadvantages: lack of product.
In the past few months I have visited the Fox each week. During this period they have almost always had a shortage of something behind the bar:
Corkscrew!! - a member of staff had to be despatched to TESCO to go buy one! Tesco had none and he actually brought one from his home - incredible in a chain which seems to push wine!
Wine glasses - one night they had NONE
Beer glasses - see above
ICE
Beer mats - never available
Champagne
Champagne ... ...takes to serve the first one.
be careful when parking on Mansion Drive alongside the Fox - thosed things on the road are YELLOW LINES!! - plus, as well as points on your licence, you are quite likely to lose a car window, stereo, or maybe just the whole car...... ...
