When it comes to pubs in Glasgow, I am fairly indecisive and tend to just go along with what someone else suggests. If I'm ever asked for a suggestion, I get a little bit stressed out and all the pub names I have ever known completely vanish from my head. Let's just say, I'm not good at making decisions in a social kinda context. Luckily, "The Social" tends to be a pub which sticks in my head in these cases. Why? Because it's centrally located, it sells cocktails (a major plus point), it sells food (an even MORE major plus point!) and it actually promises you a fairly cheap night if your aim ... more

Advantages Advantages Central, Outdoor seating, Trendy

Disadvantages Disadvantages Poor Service, expensive drinks, poor food

I visited the Social café/bar for lunch with work colleagues and ordered steak burger and chips. The burger and roll were swimming in grease, very small portion of chips. The salad was old and brown. Burger was also inedible round edges as had been carbonised. When I politely complained to the waitress, responded with patronising reply about how the chef had been a bad boy and would need to go back to school. We ordered coffeewhich the same waitress then forgot (conveniently) to bring. No apology at the bar for poor food and service. There are better places to eat in Glasgow at more ... more

The food at social is pathetic! twice I have suffered overpriced bad pub food. Nearly a tenner for a tiny greasy steak burger that looked as if it had came from a school canteen, on a huge rock hard bun. The waiting staff take ages to bring your food and drink, I was there on my lunch break and had to ask what was taking so long Bruchetta platter that I would consider bad toasted cheese, with no oil herbs or half decent tomatoes, bread was chewy and tasted stale, £7.95 for a plate of rubbish! I complained of course as the bill came to £35, staff looked shy and apologised, but nothing was done ... more

Advantages Advantages fantastic location, quick and excellent service, top quality food

Disadvantages Disadvantages choc fondont is far too good

Meant to go shoping went for lunch, had some fantastic food and wine, stuffed myself silly and got a bit pissed, cancelled our shooping and chilled out in one of the coolest bars in glasgow / scotland. They also do kids eat free with every adult eating, not any chicken dippers rubbish here though, just half portions of what ever you want on the menu. awesome!!!! We decided to go back that evening for some of the cool cocktails we saw them creating during the day. We found out they were all £3 and even better £2 on an monday. They had a dj on playing funky house, really good night fantastic ... more
