Advantages: location - next to times square Disadvantages: bar prices and atmosphere
...this place. Having stayed at the Renaissance right on times square on my previous visit, we wanted somewhere similar location but not $500 a night.
Found the Time. We travelled in February when the room rate was $229 a night. Bargain with the exchange rate.
The hotel is on West 49th street, in between broadway and 8th Avenue. Everything you could possibly need is nearby. Turn right out the hotel and you are in times square, left takes you to 8th ... ...and were on 15th Floor. The room itself was comfy - great bed, big plasma tv, fridge/mini bar, air con, desk for business facilities. My only criticism on the room would be the lack of storage - no drawers, so we lived out of our suitcases.
All the rooms have bells which can be turned off by flicking on the do not disturb sign on the door - very quirky!
We had room service once which was only some chips - cost us $11 including the $5 charge for ...

Advantages: Clean, Brilliantly situated, not too expensive for NYC Disadvantages: Smallish rooms, could find better for the price? pesty cleaners, noisy airconditioner
The Time Hotel is situated on 49th st, just of Broadway and right near Times Square. It is a 4 star hotel which has a very modern feel to it. It includes a restaurant, but it was quite expensive, so I didn't eat there. The rooms are not the biggest (but then you don't get large rooms in new york!). It includes what you would expect from a 4 star hotel, Cable TV, Air conditioning, safe. We even got the New York Times Newspaper every morning (hanging ... ...hotel, of which were in the "lounge" all the time with their Laptop computers out. It is also not the cheapest of hotels you will find.
The staff were friendly, but the best to say about this hotel is it's location. All the Broadway shows were literally just around the corner, as was time square. Lets face it when you're in new york you don't really spend much time in your hotel room anyway. All that counts is a comfy bed (which it was). ...
