...in. About 10 minutes later the four guys in front of me were next trying to get into Works. They were all turned away with no apparent reason given by Security. Why on earth the security guy refused entry to these three black guys and one white guy dumbfounded me. Visiting The Works in Kingston was an interesting experience. We went there for my friends birthday after hearing great reviews. The music was great, the atmosphere was live, the drinks were a little expensive but my only real problem was the bouncers! Advantages: Food avalible, lots of space, sheltered smoking area, good seating Disadvantages: Terrible DJ, bouncers with bad attitudes, slow bar(depending on cleavage or good looks!?)
The bar: good spirited doormen, nice chilled atmosphere, reasonable drinks before 1000. Music was RnB although repetative at times was a great atmosphere. Club: good venue, lots of space various bars, good atmosphere and a food court. Advantages: cheap Disadvantages: gets annoying waiting to be served
I go to the works regularly and its worth going as before 10pm fri sat it is free to get. after 10pm is ten pounds drinks up untill 11pm are 2pounds a bottle and some stay to 2 pound a bottle all night. the music tends to be better on a friday then saturday they play garage and r&b and occassionally old skool The bus routes such a the 65 runs from kingston to ealing all night and this goes through ham richmond kew anmd brentford and the n22 runs through ...
