...so the Thistle stood out somewhat!!! Directly behind this hotel is The Lanes and various restaurants - so it really is close to all amenities as advertised. ARRIVAL Finding the hotel was easy, parking was not!!! The car park the hotel uses is not signposted well - in fact, it has signs all over stating this is not for use by hotel guests!! However, that said, there is parking available directly under the hotel - charged at £15 per 24 hour period ...

I stayed at this hotel last weekend 19/20 November 2006 for one night. I paid GBP 160 but also had to pay GBP 10 extra for VAT. This included breakfast and was for a sea view double room. The hotel is situated on the sea front and is about 15 - 20 mins walk from the train station (which can be a bit annoying especially if you are carrying luggage). But it is a straight road down and then turn left at the end. You cant miss the hotel as it stands ...

Stayed here for one night in the summer 2006. We booked at very short notice via the internet as it was the cheapest deal we could find. It cost us £150 We parked in the lanes car park which seemed a very safe car park to leave our car. There was a queue to get in though and we were a bit worried we might not get a space. ...the pavement, you can't miss its impressive glass frontage. Great central location and the hotel looks very modern and stylish from the outside. Reception is a little hard to find when you get there as it is over to one side of a big bar and lounge area. Staff were very friendly and our check in had no problems.
