Advantages: Good Cheap Flight Disadvantages: The Planes
...I flew on the same Thomas Cook flight last year, and it was one of the best flights I have ever been on, but this year it was a different story. 4 Days before we were due to depart we got a call from Thomas Cook telling us the flight times had changed. When we got our new tickets we could see that the aircraft had been changed from an A320-200 to a Boeing 757-200, which we thought would be better. We thought wrong! On the Sunday we got to the airport ... ...but wait and wait for Thomas Cook. We finally got called to the gate and started to board. Only to find again that the plane had not been cleaned. Just walking up to the aircraft it looked like the plane jet engines had been replaced with some old red casing from Virgin Atlantic. When we got on the plane, again the TV's didn't work properly. The safety demo had to be shown by the cabin crew which I have never seen before. After the meals I was sick, ...

...flying half full. This maybe why they didn't have enough food/drink onboard? Luckily as we had to return a car to the car hire in the airport we allowed more time than usuall to get to the airport where we were rushed through.

Advantages: reasonably priced, great leg room, comfortable seats, friendly staff Disadvantages: No meal options for small children
...and I booked flights with Thomas Cook to travel to Canada to see my family. I cannot tell you how many sleepless nights I had imagining the worst. I needn't have worried - both my son and the airline were absolute stars.
Booking the flight over the internet couldn't have been easier and when I had to correspond with them regarding my son and safety regulations, they were quick to respond and very helpful.
Travelling on my own with an 18month olds, ... ...was very grateful to the Thomas Cook staff for all the help they gave us in getting to the plane and for helping us get settled properly once on the plane.
The planes are smaller but the individual seats are comfortable and even include extra leg room compared to other airlines. Leather seat covers and tv screens in the back of the headrests help to create the illusion of not being a budget airline.
The staff were curteous and extremely helpful, ...

Advantages: none i can think of Disadvantages: Give Thomas Cook £390.00 and get nothing for it
...I was approached by a Thomas Cook employee who asked if me my wife and 9 year old son would like to pay £130.00 each and upgrade our seats, I asked what we would get for the money and was told we would have extra TV channels, bigger TV screens, more leg room, priority luggage, better food, so I decided to treat the 3 of us and paid £390.00 and upgraded. We was one of the first to board the plane and there was a few extra inches leg room and the TV ... ...I wrote to Thomas Cook explained what happened and asked for some of my money back and after 2 months and about 10 emails Thomas cook told us we would not get a penny back as we had as we had sat in a bigger seat and had complimentary drinks on flight (I had 2 cans of coke wife had 1 vodka and coke). We go on 2 long hall holidays a year and always go with Thomas Cook but never again, I tried to get ABTA to get them to change there minds but they ...

Advantages: Very helpful staff. Good food Disadvantages: Leg room. Drinks cost extra
I recently flew with Thomas Cook airlines and, before flying, had been warned-" the foods bad and you have to wait ages for it" and "There's no leg room"
The latter is true enough, I dont know what the official figures state, but in terms of leg room this is one of the more cramped airlines I have flown with. I am around 5'5" however so this did not bother me. My travelling companion however, is 6'6"! The seat he was initially given was an aisle ... ...him to get comfortable: not good if you have to spend 4 hours sat like that!
However, before the plane set off, the cabin crew noticed his discomfort and offered us a row to ourselves so he could spread out. "Great" we thought. And indeed it meant he had a comfortable trip. However, the cabin crew didnt stop there and made sure they took all our reference numbers so they could accomodate him on our return trip. For the return flight he was given ...

Advantages: Speedy check in and luggage collection, comfort Disadvantages: certain things 'included' we did not receive
...on honeymoon we flew in thomas cook airlines premium cabin to Cuba from manchester. Premium check in meant a designated desk and saved us a lot of time both on our outbound and inward journey. we also received our luggage swiftly at both ends as it is kept separate from economy luggage. the seats were wider and much more comfortable with sufficient leg room. the staff were helpful and the food was quite good, getting a full meal and a snack whilst ... ...the price of premium we did not receive such as sparkling wine on arrival and personal care kit. the overall experience with Thomas Cook airlines was a pleasant one and the cost of going premium was definitely worth it especially for the speed of check in on the inbound flight. ...

Advantages: none Disadvantages: Long delays, bad legroom , badly organised
...this year I flew with Thomas Cook Airlines for the first time. I went to Varadero in Cuba for one week and when I arrived at the airport in Manchester, I was told there was an 8.5 hour delay!!! All we were offered was some lunch and £6 of airport vouchers. When you have a 10 hour flight after this long delay, it's a whole day lost of your holiday. The staff were so disinterested when we tried to explain this as the holiday cost a lot and losing one ... ...happened on their flights too.
Thomas Cook do 2 drop-offs in Cuba, therefore creating problems with headcounts and duplicate seat numbers for passengers. The whole thing was a shambles and then the attitude of the staff when people tried to complain made the whole thing worse.
I have sent a letter of complaint but I think it's disgusting not to give compensation to people when they have lost one whole day of their holiday. We are not getting what ...

Advantages: Clean and on time Disadvantages: In-flight meal
I travelled with Thomas Cook Airlines when I went on a cruise in the med in october. The flight was from Bristol - Palma return. It was about two hours each way.
Thomas Cook Airlines open their check outs early and amazingly the queues are not long. Checking in was an easy and straight forward process and all the mandatory secruity questions were asked. The check in staff were helpful and they were efficent.
At the gate Thomas Cook staff greeted ... ...and the staff showed us to the relevant tour guide.
Overall Thomas Cook is a good airline. I would recommend them. They have good customer service their food is O.K and they are punctual at departing. I could not gauage the cost because it was bought as a package. ...

Advantages: Friendly staff, Very cheap, flights arrived on time (offpeak season). Disadvantages: FAR TOO CRAMPED! Ageing plane, food,
It was the worst travel experience of my life and after looking forward to a stress free holiday following work, I came back feeling worse than I'd left!
I'm 6'3" and my knees would be digging into the seat in front even before it was reclined. Exremely uncomfortable. I had to lean into the aisle and stretch my legs out meaning I got hit every time a trolley went passed.
The plane looked very aged, with certain components on the interior which ... ...Staff were actually okay, although unhelpful at times.
Food was not good at all but I survived!
Admittedly I payed £150 for the flight but you get what you pay for. It is much worth the extra money to travel with a more reputable airline. Saying that, it was an incredibley cheap price.
Airport experience at Gatwick was good, but Larnaca was disorganised and total chaos. Took 2 hours to check in as there where no defined queues!!
In my opinion, ...

Advantages: Lovely cabin crew, great service, cheap, on time, modern aircraft, clean. Disadvantages: only 15kg weight allowance, Costs extra for more allowance.
Thomas Cook, one of the many airlines I have used flying to Turkey. Previously reading some of the reviews, I was shocked! A few were critising the airline, I honestly couldn't do that after my expeirnce,
Flying outbound we flew on a My Travel Airways aircraft. My Travel is to be completly changing to Thomas Cook sometime this summer. Outbound flight was on time, had no problem with seating, cabin crew were extremly plesent, no delays no luggage ... ...Cook, on a Thomas Cook Aircraft. The aircraft was huge! Well in my opinon as I am used to cramped squashed-up tatty Turkish Airline carriers. Flight was surprisingly on time. Plenty of check-in desks open. As we came on I was overwhelmed by the friendlyness and plesentness of the cabin crew. At least four young Air Hostesses said hello and welcomed us whilst we were getting seated. It feels so nice to be welcomed. The aircraft was some sort of beoing. ...

...my three little ones using Thomas Cook airlines.
What an easy and pleasnt experience. For a single mum travelling with three children, this airline, in my experience, provide everything you need.

I had been very nervous at the prospect of flying alone with the kids but all my fears proved unfounded and all my needs were catered for.

There was shopping available and plenty of reassuring inflight information.
I wouldn't hesitate to travel with them again ...

I have travelled with this airline a few times and to my knowledge have not been delayed YET. The food although is very poor, like most airlines, and the leg room is not as much os other airlines eg first choice.
The only problems i have had with these is the landing, but that was the piot not the airline.
The plane was clean and tidy and the staff we all polite, and i could honestly say that it was not expensive. The online/telephone after sales ...

However, the legroom is appalling on holiday flights with TCA, you cannot move your legs at all. The air is very stuffy and at times you find yourself making the extra effort to breathe!!!
