...on a plane chartered by Thomas Cook for a Saga (over 50s package holiday company) holiday tour. Every other person on our flight was over 50 and because it was a charter flight, there were an extra 12 rows of seats which means that you have no leg room and are not allowed to lower your seat (although nobody told us this until we did, and were hissed at by several octogenarians). We recently travelled with Thomas Cook and found them refreshingly good. With a recent poor experience with Going Places we were reluctant to book with any travel agent again but Thomas Cook restored some faith in travel agents with us. Their staff were friendly and seemed very well trained. They found us a holiday with JMC at short notice and followed through their service quickly and efficiently. ...I had never booked with Thomas Cook until a couple of years ago. Reason being is I had always been told they were expensive. It appears nowadays one holiday firm is the same as any other so it blows that theory clean out of the water. They are always very busy when I go in there so that too is a good sign! Disadvantages: You need to be at home to receive the package and can only be sent to the billing address

If you click on the ‘Foreign Exchange’ button on the left hand side of the screen - which may take a while to load 'cause it's a big site - you will be transported to a magical place that charges you 0% commission on your currency exchanges! I turned to Thomas Cook because I was fed up with being treated by an idiot by the tour operators themselves. I have travelled with Thomas Cook before and was pleasantly surprised, especially as they made me a Privilege Member on return from holiday. I let this lapse and had forgotten all about it. I have booked via a thomas cook agency on a number of occasions and have always found the staff helpful and more than ready to throw brochures at me. Indeed we have had some quite complicated arrangements to make at times and they have always managed to deliver what we wanted. The prices have been good but now I think by shopping around you can get a better deal. Thse only problem is common to most travel agencies in that the late deals advertised ... Read review

I would recommend Thomas Cook to anyone who wishes to book a holiday, or simply their flights, hassle free. They were brilliant with us when we booked, cancelled and then re-booked with them, providing a service which was just what we needed at that time. We booked through their website and found it easy to navigate and very user friendly. ...the Telford, Shropshire, branch of Thomas Cook. Whenever I have used them they could not have been more helpful. Their aim seems to be to ensure that you get the holiday YOU want, not sell you any-old holiday to boost their commision. On my last visit, I spent over an hour with their rep going through options, but none suited me. He gave me some things to think about and I left. ...holiday through a Travel Agent, Thomas Cook is the one to use. Their whole attitude from start to finish is refreshing - nothing seems to be too much trouble. I was quite specific on what I was looking for and took up 90 minutes of the rep's time but she wasn't satisfied until she located exactly the deal I was looking for.
