Thomson Holidays

Last year i took my partner, daughter and son on holiday to Feuventuaventura. This was our first holiday together for 7 years since i had split from my childrens father so was, therefore, really looking forward to this holiday. We paid around £200 each for a self catering package deal and was not expecting absolute luxury with the price we paid. The apartments were basic, but clean and the site itself was very nice. My children were sleeping in the room where the water was and i was horrified that one of them might have got up in the night, stood in the water and switched on a light!! I think that my 2009 Thompson summer holiday to Lake Garda was excellent. The location is magical, a beautiful clean lake surrounded by moutains with the most idylic small towns dotted around the shore line, but Thompson made the experience even better with a smooth service from start to finish. ...hotel and tours seperately to Thomson and cheaper too. Their only value add, is the airport transfer and local help from their rep. Alas, they do not even provide this in Malta. The airport transfer to the resort had seperate luggage vans to the coaches. The van carrying my suitcase dropped it in the street opposite the apartment and then left it unattended. I know that Thomson will sell you there on branded Thomson holidays, put on fuel charges and everything else they add on, they are contradicting themselves as they say they dont charge fuel supplement which they do. Thomson is one of the most exspensive companies to go on holiday with. The Holiday Guides they use are usually out of date, they dont give you the right information most of the time with regards to building works, etc.. The foreign exchange buraeu is ok bt you can definatly get more for the pund elsewhere. Thomson is an average company to use, i now prefer Going Places, Thomas cook etc to them now. Very bad organisative job from the stuff, not concentrated, many assistants made booking for one holidays, we were waiting hotel confirmation, after 1 week, it was canceled, hotel was selected by accident, missing information. Few times per week going to office asking about hotel papers, which never were sent to our adress. Wanted to change flight tickets being in holidays, no posible even to buy new tickets ! We went to Thomas Cook who helped us with 100 % respect and quelified services ! Nightmair, dificult, unprofesional, not reccomend ! Better to make all arangements by yourself on internet ! ...

Kids clubs for all ages, creche facility, outdoor play areas, indoor soft play area, splash pool, swimming pool, all day children's entertainment, mini disco, even their own section of the buffet. just returned from another stay at the Dora. Still the same, very clean with a lovely pool/bar. All the people are so friendly and genuinly remember you. We never had a bad meal in any of the Tavernas, can't recomend any specific one as they are all great! This year, however, the village is extremely quiet with the bars,etc struggling to survive, due to Tui using the Plaza ( now Sandy Beach) as an all-inclusive hotel. It is financially killing the village and if nothing is done, it will become a 'ghost town'. Next time we return, we will book a flight only and deal direct. If you go, please try and do the same! ...

For the first time in 28 years of married life, my wife and I went on holiday on our own, without our parents or our children. Would we like it, would we be bored, would we argue? Because of our fears we decided to go book somewhere in the Thomson's "Small and Friendly" brochure. We chose Rhodes Town in Greece and stayed in the Astron Hotel in the New Town, about a 10 minute walk from the ancient walled city called, not surprizingly, the "Old Town". ...
...ever had. The hotel was larger than I thought it would be but the welcome we and all of the other guests were given by the manager, Dimitri, and his staff and family was out of this world. Also because everyone breakfasted together on the shaded front terrace, we met lots of new friends, many who, like us were on their own for the first time. Thomson Holidays have to be the best UK tour operator. They generally only use the best accommodation and the Britannia flights are fine. I have always made Thomson my first choice because I have never had a bad holiday with them. I have had poor holidays with other operators though. However I do feel that one area that lets them down badly is customer service in the UK. If you do get a glitch it is so difficult to get any answer. I am a so-called ...

After a long winter I was looking forward to a relaxing break in Fuerteventura. We had booked in at Thomsons Garden Studio Apartments in Caletta des Fustes. Upon arrival the complex looked pleasent enough, if a little cramped but upon inspection of the rooms another story began to emerge. I booked with Thompson as I have used them before, and they have always been satisfactory. They dealt with everything, from flights, transport to and from the hotel, accustoming you to the hotel, you could book trips through them as well. my husban had a slight acident whilst in the hotel,and they dealt with that very well. The Hotel we stayed at was outstanding, so clean, the food excellent, the holiday rep was around every day, she saw to everything, ...
