Amazing! Words cannot express how wonderful our stay was at this B&B. Roger and Jim made us feel like royalty from the minute we opened the door to the minute we left. We stayed with Rog and Jim for two nights before touring, and then for another two nights on our return. It was the best start and end to our trip to Canada. The B&B is actually about 1 hours walk from the real "downtown" that you'd imagine to be the heart of the city. However, ... Read review

Advantages: Toronto Islands are rather nice, safe streets.
Disadvantages: Boring, extreme weather, stuck up people

Toronto is alright for a day or two, but any longer and it would start to wear very thin. Considering it has a population of over 4million people, it's very boring and has few attractions. The CN tower is OK, but let's face it, it's just a very tall concrete tower with a restaurant at the top. Not exactly the Eiffel Tower. I had nine days in Toronto and found it rather too long to stay there especially as it was November and very cold. Shopping is fantastic with lots of Outlet Malls around the outskirts of the city. You must see an Ice Hockey Game while you are there just for the crowd experience. Found the underground pathways helpful but confusing and took a little while longer to get used to it. Toronto is a great place - at least WAS a great place, until the right-wing Tory premier Mike Harris came into power, waging war on the poor and disadvantaged ever since. I lived there for several years and I barely recognise it now, it's really shameful. For tourists, I can suggest the regular: CN Tower - a big tall tower with a very scary glass lift; make sure you stand on the glass floor once you're up there!
