Travel City Direct

I had booked with Travel City Direct before reading reviews on other sites. After reading many many complaints I was very apprenhensive on my forthcoming holiday. 14 night for 8 people at Florida. However I can honestly say it was one of the best holidays I have had. Arrived at Sandford airport, no delays. Picked up car - lovely spacious had a little trouble finding accomodation but that was due to the fact my husband wouldn't take a little time ...

We have travelled with Travel City Direct twice now, and I have not had any problems that stick in my mind. Although we did travel 1st class for better service and easier check-in etc, there were no delays and the flights were fine. I would recommend utilising their pre flight bag check in: basically you check your bags in with TCD in the morning of your last day away and you don't see them again until you arrive back. Traveled with TCD on Valentines Day 2008. Worried about experience as read negative reviews. But gave them a go as was so cheap. Tickets turned up ok and all was well. Turned up for flight, no problems there, slight delay of 1 hour, but no major problem. Cabin staff ok, nothing special but who cares your going on holiday!! we have used tcd since 1992 ish and always happy with them. but after spending over £10,000 in 2007 for 2 hols we had cause to complain. their cust services was disgusting, the replies to our letters virtually called us liars and the tone and language was extremely rude and condescending. We will never use them again unless they are no longer owned by xl as since they took over tcd has gone rapidly downhill. Even their sunshine first service deteriorated betwen going in april to our next trip in september. they definately need to look at their customer service skills, only use them if you are not going to complain when things go wrong ...

Booked with TCD. Arrived at airport, to find that the plane delayed, and delayed again. No TCD representative to be found anywhere and they do not have a contact at the airport for departures Eventually got on plane, had the Disney music then got off as the pilot said that he could not fly anyway as he has exceeded the number of hours he could fly anyway! We have been to Florida 10 times 8 of them with Travel City Direct. We have never had a problem with them. Even when the plane had problems with the engine and could not fly us home in 2005 TCD where very helpful. They put us up in a hotel and drove us back to the airport the next day. The reps were on hand to answer any questions we had. We have recomended TCD to many people and they have not had any complaints. We will continue to fly with TCD. Keep up the good work. ...

Travelled with xl airlines to Florida in May 2008. This was a very long and unpleasant journey the plane was unable to fly direct has we had to refuel in Canada. Headsets did not work crew did not care less you had to pay £5.00 for a blanket. The return was even worse the passengers were told we would fly direct only for the captain to explain he had got it wrong and we would have to refuel somewhere. The next 10 hours were spent crammed into seat fit for a short haul flight. Will never use this company again. ...
