    I booked all of my holiday online after searching through quite a few travel companies, and online companies and this seemed to be the cheapest I had found, so I decided to use these, I had used an online operator before so I felt that I should be safe with these too. I did worry a little though as I had booked it quite a few months in advance and so much can happen in a few months like the company going bankrupt.     Travel Republic is an online travel agent I have used a few times before to book holidays with. You can book flights and hotels together, a flight only, hotel only, airport parking, insurance, transfers and car hire on this website although I have only done Hotel and transfers. They have destinations worldwide and plenty of choices when it comes to star ratings and all inclusive options. The search process is simple, you just type in your destination, you can choose a whole country, city or a specific hotel you want to stay in.     I have recently booked a holiday to Turkey with Travel Republic. I found the online booking much easier than sitting in a travel agents for over 3 hours (as I have before) or wasting time on the phone while the rep tries to sell you a completely different holiay to the one you want! I received my documents within 5 days, and all was fine. I then decided that we should have a bit of luxury and tried to upgrade our seats.     Disadvantages Disadvantages Only the bombardment of emails selling holiday insurance in the immediate department period

    The internet site was easy to use and access. However as I was unsure, never having booked a holiday electronically, I also used the telephone to secure the booking and to raise additional queries. The telephone was answered quickly and you were not left hanging listening to answering machines for any period of time. The people who handled my calls were excellent.     Please please DO NOT BOOK A HOLIDAY WITH TRAVEL REPUBLIC. I am writing this because we’ve been through hell and I genuinely don’t want anyone else to experience what we have because of this awful company. I have been fighting for 5 months, trying to get compensation to no avail. We booked with TR due to them being the only travel company to have the particular hotel we wanted. We now no they didn’t have this hotel, but however, decided to take our money for it anyway.     This is the worst travel company I have EVER been with, and I advise everyone to pay just that little bit more money and use a different travel company for that extra peace of mind, as when something goes wrong, it becomes a nightmare to resolve!!! We booked and paid for our accommodation to Greece last September and were due to fly out mid July 2012. I emailed our hotel 3 weeks before we were due to leave to ask if they could pick us up from the airport, as I read that they do a free shuffle transfer.     After booking hotel and flight through Travel Republic we immediately tried to book a car but it said 'none available' (on changing details we found that it was because our flight arrived at 21:15 and all car hire companies closed at 21:00. We then tried to book a 'transfer' and it was MORE than the whole week's hotel price!!! Contacted Travel Republic but they simply referred us back to their 'Transfers booking' page and ignored our comments.
