    We have just arranged a seven-day holiday in Funchal Madeira through Travel Republic. I found them on line and then wrapped things up on the telephone and hope that this account will be useful concerning my reasons for choosing an agency, and the experience of booking through this particular one A friend of ours had a good stay in Madeira and, while on the spot, she kindly selected hotels which seemed suitable for the three of us.     I booked all of my holiday online after searching through quite a few travel companies, and online companies and this seemed to be the cheapest I had found, so I decided to use these, I had used an online operator before so I felt that I should be safe with these too. I did worry a little though as I had booked it quite a few months in advance and so much can happen in a few months like the company going bankrupt.     I have recently booked a holiday to Turkey with Travel Republic. I found the online booking much easier than sitting in a travel agents for over 3 hours (as I have before) or wasting time on the phone while the rep tries to sell you a completely different holiay to the one you want! I received my documents within 5 days, and all was fine. I then decided that we should have a bit of luxury and tried to upgrade our seats.     Please please DO NOT BOOK A HOLIDAY WITH TRAVEL REPUBLIC. I am writing this because we’ve been through hell and I genuinely don’t want anyone else to experience what we have because of this awful company. I have been fighting for 5 months, trying to get compensation to no avail. We booked with TR due to them being the only travel company to have the particular hotel we wanted. We now no they didn’t have this hotel, but however, decided to take our money for it anyway.     This is the second time we have used Travel Republic, and have found the whole process very easy to use. I checked the prices of flights, transfers and accommodation individually and Travel Republic matched the best deals that I could find, therefore from this experience I won't need to spend hours trawling for the best deals, I will definitely look at Travel Republic first.Another positive - there is only one booking fee and credit card charge to make (with no hidden extras) when booking everything together so even more savings.Everything was well organised with the appropriate paper work and ... more

    One of my best holidays,and I've travelled a lot!From the startof my holiday,I had great invaluable advice,a smoothe transaction and a very warm welcome when contacting staff at Travel Republic.On arrival,I was very happy to find a beautiful hotel reception within a stunning peaceful setting.Welcoming smiles,helpful employees and great entertainment made a memorable experience that I would like to rekindle in the future.The hotel provided entertainment every evening around the pool and the bar was kept open serving food and drinks until the last guest decided to leave.I have already highly ... more

    Advantages Advantages Simple, quick & easy to use. Difficult to better their prices.

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Pretty much none. Generally the barometer I base others by.

    The interweb is awash with travel sites. It looks to me that Travel Republic have gleaned the good & discarded the bad in forming their own pitch. It's a simple site, easy to use & gives full prices up front. More importantly, it's not impossible but difficult to beat their prices. Generally I use them as a barometer & 9 out of 10 times, they win fair & square. All my bookings have gone smoothly. No dramas, crisis or other ailments to detract from using them.     We have never used travel republic before as we prefer the regular faces in our local Thomas Cook however I was shocked at just how cheap the holiday was and how easy the booking process seemed. After we booked our holiday with travel republic we got my sister and her husband to follow suit and they booked to come with us on the same site. My husband and I expected the hotel to be much worse than it was considering how much we paid so were pleasantly surprised and very pleased. We didnt expect to receive a welcome pack when we got to the hotel or expect to have the services of a rep but these ... more

    I had never heard of Travel Republic before booking my holiday. I heard about them from 'Which?' magazine where they were rated 4th out of the top ten travel agents. We took a chance and were not disappointed. The web site is easy to use and to navigate. You get exactly the holiday that you have booked. You are not inundated with paperwork just 3 documents for flights, accommodation and transfer. I admit that I was a bit nervous about what appeared to be limited documentation but there was no need.
