Advantages: Quiet and comfy Disadvantages: Car Park
...hours. Once in the Travelodge, there was a bar and eating area to the right, but this was fairly empty with just couple of people say at the bar. A lone receptionist was very pleasant, but took an absolute age to find our booking on the system. She had to go and talk to another employee, and from the snippets of conversation which I could hear, it sounded like they had actually given our booking to someone else, because the other employee dashed ... ...up and showering were clearly heard. Checking out was a none event, with the key just being deposited in a box at the reception desk. So all in all it was a reasonable Travelodge, not the most luxurious of stop overs, but functional and adequate for our needs. ...

Advantages: Good location in leisure park, early check-in and late check-out option available. Disadvantages: Very basic rooms - nothing special, no breakfast included in the price.
My partner and I stayed here earlier this month for one night prior to getting the Eurostar to Paris. The hotel is located a 5-10 minute drive away from Ashford train station, in a leisure park just off junction 9 of the M20.
We chose to stay at the Travelodge for four reasons:
- It was a special price of £29 for the room.
- It wasn't far from the train station.
- We knew it would be reliable as it's a well known hotel chain.
- The were lots ... ...made our booking on the Travelodge website - www.travelodge.co.uk - and we paid in full by card online. Included in the special £29 price was a spacious ensuite family room which consisted of a king sized bed, sofa bed, bathroom with shower, a television, and a kettle with complimentary tea/coffee. Breakfast is available at an extra cost between 7-10am but we did not take up this option as we intended to get breakfast at the station.
Upon arriving ...

Advantages: Good travel links, good location Disadvantages: Rooms could have done with updating
...was fairly standard for a Travelodge, big double bed, sofabed, desk, tea/coffee making facilities and bathroom. Our room was clean and tidy but showing it's age a bit and could have done with a refurbishment. There were enough towels and pillows, although if you wanted a hairdryer I think you had to ask at reception.
Downstairs there was a bar and restaurant place where you could get food, although you weren't short of food options within walking ... ...on our way to catch a ferry but I liked that it was available and I think it was all you can eat for a set price.
The bar was well stocked and decently priced, and there were the usual vending machines for snacks and drinks as well other travel essentials.
Check out was quick, it's all pre-paid so it was just a matter of dropping off the key. There was no-one around when we left and it was quite busy so we just dropped off the key and went on our ...

Advantages: Close to Dover and Channel tunnel Disadvantages: Noise from motorway when windows left open
Situated just off junction 9 on M20 motorway, this functional hotel is ideal for people travelling to or from the continent via Dover or the Channel tunnel. 3 storeys high there is a useful lift to gain access to the upper floors. Obviously popular with families and contractors working in the area, there is plenty of roomy parking and access to various restaurant options to suit most budgets. The room was bland, clean and just as advertised.
Pre-booking ... ...breakast is beneficial since there is a discount offered, and it saves hassle once you arrive at the hotel.
We used a family room which was spacious enough for 3 and provided a good rest before onward travel to Dover for the ferry. The evening meal in the hotel restaurant was fresh cooked and generous, although the menu is somewhat limited.
The windows in the rooms have safety 'chains' to stop them being fully flung open, and this can restrict ...
