Advantages: Well situated, clean and comfortable Disadvantages: External noise from nearby building site
...some negatives about the Belfast Travelodge, we found it perfectly adequate and pleasant for a city break and would thoroughly recommend it. Travelodge frequently has promotions offering bargain accommodation and even it's full prices are reasonable.

Advantages: Central, friendly service, basic needs covered Disadvantages: Food not so great.
I travelled to Belfast last week for a short break, and, being a poor student, Belfast Central Travelodge seemed ideal! Here's the lowdown:
BOOKING INFORMATION:
Rooms can be easily booked through the website (www.travelodge.co.uk), you just pick the dates you want when prompted and it books the rooms for you. You don't pay when you book the rooms, instead you pay at check-in, but you do have to enter a card number for guarantee purposes.
PRICES:
... ...which was £79 a night. What's great is that you pay for the room, not per person, so if you're travelling with a friend or partner as in my case, you end up paying £39.50 per night, which is the cheapest I've heard of save maybe youth hostels. The price doesn't include breakfast, however, which is another £7.50 per person per meal, more below.
THE ROOM:
Really basic, you get what you pay for, but it was pleasant enough and nicely furnished with ...

I stayed at the Travelodge Belfast in October 2007. The reason for a trip to Belfast was a concert to which I had received free tickets. I left booking the hotel til a couple of weeks before the concert and there wasn't a great deal of choice available.
We paid £79.00 for the room, I booked it on a site where I paid 10% deposit and paid the reaminder on arrival at the hotel.
We stayed on a Monday night, we got the bus from the airport to the Europa ... ...walked the short distance to the hotel (it is basically down a street and across the road - about 2 minutes walk). We found the hotel easily and were greeted by the receptionist who was very friendly and enthusiastic about the city and the concert we were attending. We were checked in quickly with no problems. The receptionist spent a lot of time talking to us and told us the best way to get to the venue and what to do after the show in order to ...

When looking for somewhere to go for my hen night (or weekend as it turned out to be) I wanted somewhere cheap not just for me but for the others as well, as most of them are on budgets too. I scowered the internet and came up with two nights including flights with a well known budget airline for £90. Bargin we said and booked it. As we were a group booking I was unable to do this on the Travelodges website so I had to phone the main reservations ... ...call was answered very quick and rooms booked all in approximatly 5 minutes. Then everything else was done via email such as booking forms, confirmations etc.
When we got to Belfast we took a taxi to the Travelodge on first impressions it seemed fine and the recepionist was very smiley. As we arrived in the morning our rooms weren't ready so we were told to put our cases in the cupboard in reception and to come back around lunch time to see if they ...

Advantages: Cheap, you pay for the room, not per person Disadvantages: Gluesniffers at the fron door
Pay your £60 for a family room at the Travelodge Belfast, and have a night to remember. Gaze out your window at the paved-court below and watch drunks fight from around 5pm till early the next morning.
This was a terrible experience. The hotel itself was fine, but the surrounding area was dangerous to take a family out after dark. The front door of the Travelodge is operated on a buzzer system, so you have to wait for it to be opened by the staff, ... ...as drunks and glue sniffers gather literally yards from you.
This isn't the middle of the night either, this was at 8pm on a Sunday night.
Apart from that, the room was clean and nicely furnished, a double bed and ensuite with coffee and tea making facilities, but I'd opt for Jury's Inn on the main road near The Europa if you truly want a safer family stay. ...
