This review is on the Travel Lodge Hotel Derry. Location The location of this hotel is perfact for any traveller. It is situated in the heart of the city. 3 min walk from the harbour, and 5 minute walk from the two main shopping centres. 2 of the most popular bars in derry are right beside the hotel. Strand bar is directly across the street from the lodge and the Ice warf run by JD Whetherspoon is directly under the hotel. Not to mention Quayside ...

I went to Londonderry in February basically for a cheap weekend away! Dont ask why we chose Londonderry!! But anyway after a short taxi ride we arrived at the hotel which has an impressive building front, taking the lift up we walked into the huge reception area and we checked in without any problems. The room we had was a basic double room but it was huge! God knows what a suite looked like! We had alot of wardrobes trying to use up the space! ...
...clean!! We chose not to have breakfast - TIP dont have the hotel breakfast it costs £8.00 per person, go to Wetherspoons next door and a full Irish breakfast costs about £2.00!!!! Review of Travelodge City of Derry, Derry

I have stayed in the Travelodge in Derry twice and I have unsuccessfully tried to book it on one further occasion. It's located in the centre of the city and is consequently within walking distance of virtually everything that you might need. There's a bar / restaurant in the same complex which, to my mind are an acquired taste but you'll find other places to eat drink close by. The rooms are fine - clean and reasonably well equipped for an overnight ...
...understand that it's possible to get breakfast there but on the 2 occasions that I stayed there, I couldn't find anyone to point me in the direction of the dining area so I went elsewhere for food and can't comment on the food. When you can find the staff , they are helpful and pleasant. It's handy if you need to be in Derry, for a night or two, it can be very cheap and it's clean and functional.
