Advantages: Can be cheap, clean, comfortable, many of them Disadvantages: Usually by the road/motorway, no last minute offers!
The Travelodge chain is the fasted growing in the country, with a total of 333 hotels as I write this and 40 new ones planned for this year alone! Hotels can be found in the UK, Ireland and suprisingly, Spain. Many are very basic, to include ensuite facilities, tea & coffee making facilities and most importantly, sleeping facilities! Unfortunately, a funeral brought us to Haydock on Friday 11th January. We travelled up by car from Cinderford which is in the Forest of Dean, Gloucestershire, nowadays the 142 mile trip only takes about two and a half hours (if we avoid the work traffic) and we decided to travel back that evening as our son was being looked after at home by my sister. Advantages: Warm, clean and comfortable. Meets basic needs. Disadvantages: No extras - no toiletries, only two towels!
...as we can. Travelodge run a chain of budget hotels - perfect for our needs. They don't boast any luxuries or fancy extras, just a comfortable bed and friendly welcome. As we are out during the day researching, this suited us just fine. Like many of the hotels in the Travelodge chain, Haydock St Helens offer a range of prices including the super -saver rate of £15 per room per night, the saver rate of £26 per room per night and the flexible rate of ... ...anywhere and stay in a Travelodge hotel and you will find the same layout of room - and we can fully attest to that. As we entered the room, the en-suite bathroom was to the right with bath, wash-basin and toilet. To the left is a small shelving unit with an area for hanging clothes. Into the room is the king sized bed covered simply with a bottom sheet and duvet. At the far end of the room was a sofa which opens out to provide an extra bed if required ...
