I love travel lodges. They give you just what you need at a very reasonable price but I had only ever used them in London and had never stayed at the one at Lincoln before.
I turned up expecting a nice nonsmoking room because when we ordered a room you have to tick if you wanted a smoking room and my partner had specifically not done so. However after hours of travelling and arriving at the hotel we were told there were no other rooms left other ... ...It was disgusting. It was dirty. It stank. In the corridor I could smell people smoking drugs in their rooms. I felt like I was choking when I lay down and try to sleep. I felt like I couldn't breath. We opened the windows and left the extractor fan on in the bathroom but it was still hideous. It took me at least a couple of hours to get to sleep and I had to be up in the early hours of the morning. It was repulsive. I couldn't wait to get home and ...
