My experience really started with the decision to use a no-frills airline to do a cheapie European holiday last summer.
The problem was that the cheap flights from Belfast were alll booked up and we could have got a package holiday for the flight ... ...hotels led me to the Tryp Hotel in Oviedo, and for reasons later explained, I booked.
Discovery number one, thanks to the internet.
