Tunbridge Wells- A Nice Town to visit
The official name is Royal Tunbridge Wells and it is in the West part of the county of Kent.
You will find Tunbridge Wells along the northern part of the High Weald and it borders on to Surrey,West Sussex and East Sussex .Tunbridge Wells is graced with woodlands and parkland. The larger area of woodland is the Tunbridge Wells and Rusthall Common that is 250 acres in size and it has wood and heathland and is ... ...for the residents of Tunbridge Wells to have pleasure using the park for leisure pursuits.
The oldest public park is the Grosvener recreation ground and it is ajoined by the Hilbert recreation ground and parts of this as been designated as a local nature reserve by Kent High Weald Project.
In the Georgian period the town was a tourist resort and spa because the chalybeate spring down at the Pantiles and this became very well known.It encouraged ...

...the picturesque town of Royal Tunbridge Wells (hereafter referred to as RTW) 33 years ago. I was born in a village on the north-western edge called Rusthall. When I was two I moved (well, my parents moved and I went with them) to a village on the eastern edge called High Brooms, where my father had grown up. I spent the next 24 years, more or less, living in that village.
So where should I start... Well, why not at the beginning?
THE BEGINNING
... ...Nash, came to work at Tunbridge Wells. In the early 19th century Princess Victoria came to stay at what is now the Calverley Hotel, years before she became Queen. The town was granted a Royal Charter in the early 20th Century.
LOCATION
RTW is located roughly halfway between London and the coast. It is 35 miles south of the Capital and 25 miles north of Hastings and Eastbourne. Road access is reasonable. The A21 is the main road down from the M25, ...

Royal Tunbridge Wells,to give it its official name,is a elegant Spa town,long renowned for its "medicinal" chalybeate -non-impregnated- spring waters.It is also famous for its colonnaded Pantiles precinct,which today houses antique shops,genteel English tea rooms,jewellers,book stores and furniture shops. Just north of the Pantiles,Chapel Place is a quiet and very picturesque pedestrianised area replete with small specialist shops. This leads into ... ...good restaurants,including ethnic eateries. Royal Tunbridge Wells is very well situated for seeing a number of fine historical houses,castles and gardens. There is,eg,Hever Castle,the childhood home of Anne Boleyn, Penshurst Palace, Scotney Castle and Sissinghurst Castle Garden ,all within easy reach.
Do not expect vibrant night life in Royal Tunbridge Wells but if its charmingly varied architecture,green open spaces and elegant shops you are after,this ...

...18 year old resident of Tunbridge Wells since 1996, I have a wide knowledge of the attractions and facilities available to young people in the town.
The Chalybeate spring from which the town was born was discovered in 1606, thus, in comparison to the surrounding towns, Tunbridge Wells is quite a newly developed community. The older part of the town is the most historically interesting and beautiful, with the pantiles, an area of mostly Tudor townhouses ... ...town was christened 'Royal Tunbridge Wells' following a visit from the Queen Henrietta Maria, mother of Charles 1. In 1678 the Chapel of King Charles the Martyr was built. But Tunbridge Wells did not start to develop as a town until about 1680. From then on houses were built at Mount Ephraim. In 1682 land near the common was sold. After 1682 houses were built in the area of Mount Sion. In 1687 the shops were burned in a fire but the owner rebuilt ...
