Advantages: Fun, lots to do Disadvantages: A bit pricey
...my trip to Orlando was Typhoon Lagoon. I had last been there in about 1992 so was interested to see it again. Typhoon Lagoon is part of the Disney family and was opened in 1989. The idea behind the park is that it was created as the result of a huge storm which caused the rapids to form and the boats to be blown there from a nearby fishing village. As with everything Disney, this is another land of make believe!

Typhoon Lagoon is part ... ...A single day in Typhoon Lagoon costs $40 for anyone over 10 and $32 for anyone 3-9 years old. You can combine your Typhoon Lagoon tickets with other tickets for parks in the Disney World complex and if you are staying for a long time in Disney then this definitely cuts the cost down. We were only spending two days, however, and we already had one ticket from a previous trip, so we just paid when we got to the park. OPENING TIMES:

Advantages: Great day for all swimmers and non swimmers Disadvantages: If you dont take care you can get very sun burnt.

We visited typhoon lagoon on our last visit to the USA, when we purchased a park hopper ticket this was one of the attractions listed, so as it was paid for we decided to go as it was a very hot day and a water park would be the best way to keep cool.

Typhoon Lagoon is probably my favourite of the two Disney parks. The park is built with the theme that a huge storm happened which impaled a fishing boat on top of a mountain and the resulting tides and rapids have continued. The setting is like a tropical island. There are lots of palm trees set around sandy beaches with tropical music drifting around.
Arriving as the park opens gives you a good choice of sun beds. The beds ... ...bit tricky getting between them. Towels can be rented cheaply and it is a good option as it saves you having to launder all the sand out when you get back home. Large and small lockers are available to rent which are quite a good idea as you don’t want to leave money or expensive cameras on your sun beds whilst enjoying the attractions. Waterproof boxes that can be worn around the neck can be bought in the shop and are useful for keys etc., we bought ...

...the bottom. At Typhoon lagoon you also are able to scuba dive to the coral reef as the have a filled fish coral reef within the park . There are laso attractions for the young memebrs of the family aswell which makes it a great place for the whole family. ...

Advantages: A nice variety of activities, jolly atmosphere, perfect for families, good transport (from disney resort hotels in particular), accomadates all ages! Disadvantages: Must mind your feet in the surf pool on the rough flooring, fast food, quite expensive but average for the area, queue times
Typhoon Lagoon, the newest and largest of the water parks in Disney, is a great theme park for a family day out. Me and my family went their last year and thoroughly enjoyed it.
Typhoon Lagoon has a good, well thoughtout layout and it is extreamley easy to find what your looking for. The park is set around the surf pool, which I believe has a set of waves every 90 seconds and is as big as 2 football fields. If you fancy it, you can now also surf ... ...charge when the park is closed.
The first main attraction when you walk through the gates is the "Castaway Creek" lazy-river style ride which runs around the perimeter of the surf pool. It took us just under an hour to do and took us through some wonderful scenery including things like caves and rivers. You basically just relax in a rubber dinghy, going round however many times you want.
Just past this, is a man-made beach with white sand perfect ...
