It's a noble purpose, and while we humans may quibble with many of the details, the goals themselves are easy to embrace. Advantages: Fascinating if you're interested in politics... Disadvantages: ...dull if you're not interested in politics
...interesting to note that the UN is not actually in New York. In fact, it is not even in America! The Americans gave this plot of land to the East of Manhatten as a gift to the United Nations (presumably in an attempt to excuse their long overdue subscription fees) and it counts as a separate state - complete with its own post office! Nobody live there, but you can get a guided tour which (presuming none of the rooms are in use - i.e. the councils ... ...on TV, and more. One of the more startling things you see, and which you should keep your eye out for, is a piece of rock from just outside Nagasaki - it looks totally normal from one side, yet the other is unnaturally melted. An interesting day out, but perhaps only if you have at least a tiny interest in the politics of it. ...
