Advantages: Full of nice surprises
Disadvantages: Could get used to it

I have flown US Airways on 4 trans-atlantic return journeys this year so I believe I am well placed to give you guys an overview. Departure: Taking off from Gatwick the check in staff and security are helpful and courteous. They will also provide you with your Visa waiver forms prior to take off so you do not have to fill one out on arrival at US immigration. ...to describe my experiences with US Airways would be 'mixed bag' as in the last 3 months I've really had my highs and low's with this airline. The highs would be £700 + free round trip and luxury hotel accommadation in Manchester but the lows would be stranded in Philadelphia, stranded in Detroit and waiting 14 hours for a flight you were booked on, about to take off and still didnt make it. I flew USAirways this year (2000) to Orlando, and I was most impressed with the array of drinks on offer! I was flying economy class, yet all drinks including alcoholic ones were free. I asked for a Bailey's and got a huge cupfull, instead of a tiny glass, and all drinks were supplied constantly and with masses of ice. It was a great taste of what was to come! ...flew to the USA with US Airways, having booked the flights through the Airline Network. The flight to Philadelphia took 7.5 hours and was not delayed. We flew from Manchester to Philadelphia in economy class but had enough leg room on this flight, the food was the usual standard for airline meals. Advantages: legroom, cost and politness of staff
Disadvantages: entertainment and food

I chose US Air because we got a good deal - four flights for the price of three. We flew from Manchester to Denver via Philadelphia. At the airport there were no queues which was a very welcome break. The security people were very pleasant and the check in staff chatted with us as well as doing their job efficiently. ...in comparison to other major US operators like British Airways, American Airlines, Virgin Atlantic and Continental, but also, the inflight services were excellent! What really did it for me were the meals - none of that cheap rubbish BA offer! Really high quality -and delicious- meals. Mmm! I have recently flown with US Airways to Florida and I have got to say that they were the best airline that I have ever flown with, and I have flown with a few! The biggest surprise was the amount of leg room, even in second/lower/cattle class. No sitting with your knees up to your ears on this airline, there was plenty of room. The in-flight entertainment was brilliant. We flew on a new plane, only three weeks old, which helped I suppose. ... Read review

Disadvantages: To be honest, there were no disadvantages - I had a great flight.

...by American friends, against choosing US Airways. I decided to fly with them though, as they were offering the cheapest, direct flight. I thought I'd give it a go though! I flew in Economy Class. We boarded on time, but set off about 20 minutes late - and ended up arriving 1 hour early, so the time was more than made up. The service aboard the flight was excellent. ...four flights I took with US Air in May. Check in at Gatwick was fast, effient and wonderfully friendly. As I was early I requested that I have a seat with more leg room (not that I am taller than average or anything, I just wanted a little more comfort on a 7 hour flight). I was also given a choice of seating for my connecting flight which amazed me, I quickly accepted the offer of another seat with a little more leg room. Airline food is never great ... Read review

I used US AIRWAYS for the first time in October. There were drinks and entertainment a'plentifull!!! The equipment there for economy entertainment was amazing. I felt incredibly privledged to be sat there. Every chair had its own T.V monitor and Television remote on the arm."So what" your probably thinking, but has any inflight entertainment youve been on had 4 seperate entertainment sections for ages and interest and in each one of these sections ...
