Advantages: Lots of avaiable routes all over USA
Disadvantages: Not as friendly staff and general 'old fashioned' design interior of aircraft

I flew on United airways 4 times over the USA and from the UK in August 2004 and found it to be a very pleasant, relaxing flight each time. Cost Well everyone cares about cost! United are not a budget airline, although my family found them tp be the cheapest of all the carriers we could find in the USA last summer. ...were certain aspects of the United Airlines customer service that were certainly not awesome. Actually the title to this op is slightly misleading. They weren’t that bad. (Certainly better than American Airlines, but then that’s not difficult. I think I would be better than American if I offered people piggy backs to wherever they wanted to go.) Disadvantages: Filthy plane

...options for seating on the United leg. I was expecting to have to check-in again at Newark, but lo and behold it spit out a boarding pass for the onward flight too. The seating options were two middle seats, but I was able to get this changed at the gate for an aisle seat by the friendly staff there. Did you know that United Airlines are subject to a boycott by annoyed staff and passengers? There has recently been a lot of bad press around about the unfair treatment of staff due to alleged discriminatory employee benefits and lawsuit against San Francisco equal benefits ordinance protecting lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgendered employees. Disadvantages: some TV screens weren't working on way home

...April 2004 i flew with united for the first time from heathrow to los angeles. My flight only cost £238 return, which included connecting flights to las vegas. however since returning and trying to book to go again the prices have jumped up massively, maybe this is due to the time of year or what i don't know. Advantages: Biggest airline in the world, and one of the best
Disadvantages: lost property services could be better

I recently flew with United to Florida via Washington, over the course of the trip I flew on two different 777's, a 757 and a 727. I found the all of the aircraft to be very clean, the new increased seat pitch in economy was very welcome and for me a being a shade short of six foot, comfortable. I recently flew United from Houston to Las Angeles. I was impressed with the service, the personnel were efficient and caring. The plane was clean. The coach seats were ample for comfort. And the airline both left and arrived on time. I was traveling with my wheel chair and that posed no problems. I was wheeled to plane and the wheelchair taken in to cargo area from there. ...of being married to a United Airlines employee is that we get reduced flights. Because of this, we are often flying back and forth to the United States to visit relatives. ...sister and I flew with United from Heathrow to Chicago. The staff were friendly and efficient and the plane left on time and actually arrived earlier than sheduled!. I've travelled on United for both international and domestic trips within the US. Their strength is definately domestic trips! My first expirience with them was a couple of years ago, and is something I wouldn't wish anyone else to go through! Because the plane was broken we had a 22hour delay in London.
