Advantages: An 'extravaganza' everyone should experience at least once Disadvantages: A bit pricey for a young family
...an hour's drive from the Universal Studios. Great! The three t's: trashy, tacky and totally tasteless. Life's far to short not to have some seriously silly fun.

On-line booking was quick and easy. We also took the opportunity to buy a Front of Line Pass (FLP). They are expensive but we treated ourselves. This pass allows you to go right to the front of the line at the shows and attractions within the park, which also ensures you are more likely to get the best seats ...

Advantages: so many different rides and entertainment there is something for everyone. Disadvantages: i couldn't fault the place!
...but chose to go to Universal Studio's instead of Disney because im a huge film fan. We booked our tickets online beforehand and not only did we save money about $10 each (usual price is around $59.99) but we bypassed the queues at the gate aswell!
We went on a Thursday so the park opened at 10 a.m ( 9 a.m - 9 p.m weekends, 10 a.m - 6 p.m weekdays) we set out early because you can guarentee traffic queues in LA. We drove North from Anaheim on the ... ...the Hollywood freeway (101) signposted universal studio's all the way from there. We arrived at the entrance and chose the free parking which is slightly further away than the paid parking but it was a nice day and we had plenty of time so we didnt mind the very short walk. Before entering the main park you pass through universal citywalk, where there is the universal studios cinema showing all the latest blockbusters and lots of shops and restaurants ...

...– For all the Family UNIVERSAL STUDIOS, in the heart of Hollywood, L.A
I am not a great fan of Theme Parks generally. I say that at the outset. Most seem geared to provide the scariest rides, which attract queues the length of the Great Wall of China. I don’t want to go out for the day – and spend it queuing to go on a ride that will have me spewing my guts up five minutes later. A thrill – I think not. You want a scary ride ... ...time – a visit to Universal Studios was a definate highlight, while in Los Angeles. Obviously the most notable – no, Legendary, Theme Park in LA is ‘Disneyland’, but having gone to L.A as it’s the ‘heart’ of the movie industry, we thought we’d give Universal a go, because of it’s more Cinematic themes.
Arriving on a sunny November day, we paid the $35 each entrance fee (is it really that much ...

...6 pm.
The Universal studio occupies a large land area, which means they have their own postcode as well as city, called Universal city.
[Getting there]
It was simple because there were signs along the freeway 101 as we got closer to the Studio. This is the only route to the Studio so you can't really miss it. During summer, the freeway can get really congested but this time round, it was okay.
[Parking]
It seems like all theme parks in the US ... ...the parking, costing $7.00. Signs and ushers will direct you to the area to park. On the parking ticket, you are also recommended to note down the parking lot alphabet and colour so that at the end of the day, you can still find your car. This I thought, was interesting and a prelude to an entertaining day. This time round, we were lucky enough to park in the Jurassic parking area, which is a covered parking building connected to City Walk (which ...

Advantages: Great day out, loads to see and do!! Disadvantages: Not so good for very young children
...I wanted to go to Universal Studios, I am a fan of the movies and this was an opportunity I was going to miss out on, a chance to see the sets from famous movies like Jaws and War of the Worlds, and many rides built around the movies like the Jurassic Park Ride. On entrance to the park you already feel like star with a red carpet waiting for you to walk down the excitement was overwhelming for me, this is a place I had wanted to go to for ages, it ... ...favorite things to do at Universal has to be the Studio Tour! It is an absolute must do! I am not sure if it should be described as a ride or a tour as it sort of covers both areas, basically you hope on a bus that takes you through the sets and scenes of some classic movies and you get see the action come to life before your eyes! War of the Worlds had to be one of the best sets to go through, such immense detail also Jaws and King Kong where great, ...

The pre-show can be a bit tedious due to its length but it’s extremely realistic, so when you go into the auditorium, you’re ready for the action, which is about to commence. At times you can’t believe you eyes, the clear 3D film mixes effortlessly with the live action on stage. ...
