Advantages: Close to the Strip Disadvantages: Seems a little grand at times
We visited Vegas first in 2000 and we were absolutely overwhelmed by the sheer magnitude of this hotel, it was so impressive i was literally shell shocked.
The hotel is absoluely spotless, it just oozes opulence and can be a little intimidating for the average traveller but if you can afford the little extra and it is a special trip - do book to stay here. Even if you can only afford one or two nights it is so worth it.
The grand hall has free ... ...wicked to sit and listen, eating a pastry ,drinking coffee.
One of the very very best things is the canal for about $20 you and a partner or friend can be treated to a gondola ride along the canal that is inside the hotel (yes inside!!!!). Half way round you are treated to a couple of verses of "O sole mio" oh it is superb. I felt just like royalty and came out of there vowing to return. Which i did in October last year and again the hotel remains ...

Advantages: Absolutely amazing quality Disadvantages: Themed so it can put off certain customers
...trip was to gamble. The Venetian is right up there with the best of them. Prices are much the same as the rest of on strip Vegas, although the Venetian would probably be towards the dearer end of the scale. Like all hotels though, you can get deals at various times of the year and so the price fluctuates.
The floor is massive, and at first I was getting lost all the time, All Vegas casino floors are jam packed with slots, which as a "European" gambler, ... ...The Venetian is great for roulette as it has a European wheel table and unlike other casinos, all the roulette tables are in one place so you can have a wander round and watch people gambling as well as going in yourself.
For me, half the fun of Vegas is watching others gamble, and so being able to wander round all the tables which line all the main walkways was great fun for me. But roulette is my preference so Venetian wins hands down for this ...
