I stayed in the Village Hotel & Leisure Club in Bury in February 2004. Bury is about 10 miles away from central Manchester. And I wouldn’t say it’s “an ideal location to visit the sights and sounds of Manchester city centre” as the hotel website says. To get to the city centre you either have to use taxis all the time or take a bus to Bury railway station first and then get a tram to Central Manchester. ...Checking in was quite easy. Form filled in, facilities explained, etc. My room was pretty clean but not particularly spacious. Two beds occupied most of the room, then there was a table, bedside table, wardrobe, mirror, TV, tea/coffee making facilities, ironing board, telephone.
