Advantages: lots of things to do in flight
Disadvantages: advantages - only if they work

I had heard about the Virgin Atlantic in flight entertainment system, and when i heard i was going to be flying Virgin when i went to San Francisco, i have to admit i was quite excited. the in flight entertainment includes, Movies, Tv programmes, Radio and Games. ... I think Virgin are great - excellent flight but the in-flight entertainment needs toning down a little. Im not asking the Adults to watch Scooby Doo all night long but there are some great movies out there suitable for viewers of all ages. Virgin Atlantic’s service is just brilliant, and I could find nothing wrong with the airline in any way - at all! I travelled with them last year on my way to Orlando, Florida and it was just the perfect start to my holiday. Each passenger has their own television set in the back of the chair in front and a choice of 9 channels. You can watch the same film three times if you wish. ...COULD NOT TALK TO ONE VIRGIN MEMBER. VIRGIN DO NOT KNOW WHAT IT IS LIKE TO FACE SOMTHING ON THE SCALE OF THIS. ITS OBVIOUS NOW ,THAT VIRGIN COULD NOT HANDLE SUCH A SEVERE INCIDENT LIKE THIS. Disadvantages: The seats are so uncomfortable

Quite frankly virgin was the most dissapointing long haul flight I have ever been on, the flight was from LA to Heathrow and overnight. All night you had that constant flicker of those stupid little tele's. As for leg room I have had more space on a charter flight! On our return to the UK we were so dissgusted we wrote to Mr Branson. Disadvantages: Very popular so book early.

...occasion I have travelled with Virgin Atlantic Airways. In fact I refuse to travel with any other company. I enjoy the service that I get from check-in up to the moment I leave the plane. They are especially good for families because they cater very well for children giving them their own travel bag on the flight. I find the seats comfy and quite roomy too. Advantages: The time goes really quickly
Disadvantages: many flights from London airports only

This is a great airline. I have flown to Orlando and back twice with these now on their Manchester to Orlando route, unfortunately the first time I had cause to complain as they had chartered an aircraft from another airline. But now they have their house in order, and the service is great. I flew economy and the service, food and entertainment is fantastic, the free alcoholic drinks are great too. I moved from Australia to the U.K when i was 18 years old to pursue a cricket career(short lived!), but that began my association with airlines. When you have to be on that plane for more than 24 hours in some cases, you tend to amuse yourself by scruitinising everything on that flight. Virgin Atlantic Baby. I have to say I have only flown with Virgin Atlantic the once on my Manchester to Florida trip. i found them a good airline , The staff where very Friendly , the flight was running on time. The plane was commutable which is just as well as it was a 8 hour flight. Virgin is one of the more expensive airlines out there but you do get what you pay for. Disadvantages: Lose your valuables. Unfriendly, unhelpful staff. Arrogant and dismissive customer service.

...Heathrow from San Francisco with Virgin Atlantic, my wife and I packed our house and car keys into our checked luggage, given the heightened security situation at the time. Whilst in Virgin's charge, my bag was opened and our keys were removed. Virgin's ground staff refused to offer any practical help, and wouldn't even call a locksmith to get us into our house. I GO TO TOKYO BY VIRGIN EVRY FEW MONTHS AND I CAN RELY ON THIER SERVICES EVEN ON ECONOMY SEATS. AT LHR BOTH BRITISH AND JAPANESE STAFFS WORK HARD AND VERY KIND. FLIGHT ENTERTAINMENT IS VERY GOOD AND FOOD IS VERY GOOD. STAFF KEEP THEIR SMILE ALL THE TIME AND VERY PRO. I HAD TO USE BA FOR 3 TIMES IN 2006 TO TOKYO AND I WILL NEVER EVER USE BA AGAIN.
