...flew to New York on Virgin Atlantic and was dreading flying long haul for the first time. However, I was pleasently surprised by the service on this flight and the way it was organised. The airplane itself was clean and tidy and they provided us with blankets and pillows as well as a bag full of goodies! ...and just right. On Virgin you are provided with free earphones and TV sets in the back of each seat so you can choose what you want to watch. I really enjoyed flying with Virgin first time as they seem to give you every thing you need, and this was in economy. You could tell that they really tried hard to make every single passenger comfortable. Sitting in economy you get loads of leg room, nicer meals than normal airlines provide and you never seem to be bored. I've flown Virgin twice now (well 4 times if you include the return trips), and can highly recommend the experience.
