...does everyone go on about Virgin Atlantic so much? I recently flew to New York with Virgin and I must say that they really did fail to impress! Not that the flight was late or the service was rude, however, it just did not live up to what others had told me it was like. ...They also provide a virgin bag with ear plugs and tootbrushes wich is useful. The service was good, not as corteous as the asian airlines but adequate as long as you have no trouble. The flexibility without the penalty of a high price is also useful for example if you want to fly into one city and out of the other. very useful if you want to do a fly drive and not drive back and waste time and petrol. I decided to fly Virgin Airlines after being dissatisfied with previous airlines. The air hostesses were good and friendly, but they were not the "Award Winning Sevice" I was expecting. They forgot to clean my table in the morning and did not do much to make my flight any better. The food was excellent, something that other airlines are slack at. I have now flown Virgin Atlantics Upper Class 4 times, most recent trip 3 weeks ago. I find the total experience of flying with them outstanding but then I guess for the price you have to pay to be in upper class suites, it SHOULD be outstanding. The staff are absolutely amazing and I could not speak more highly of them. Been flying on Virgin Atlantic reguarly for at least seven years now and can say that this carrier has got many more positive attributes than negative ones. Food: like most airline food, Virgin's is not always the greatest but it's not horrific and on the LHR to LAX route there's a lot of food to go around even in economy class. In December my family and i went to America for two weeks. The flight there was ok. I am a 6ft man who requires extra leg room and to beable to get that we had to check in hours before! The journey back was my worst flight in my life! The turbulance went on for hours and the thing that really annoyed me was the fact that they seved dinner 10 minutes before we hit it. ...I've flowen With Virgin Atlantic for nearly 13 years and it's so great i just keep comming back to fly with them. The whole flight took about 8:30 mins on there Airbus A340-300. I have flown with Virgin on two occasions. Ten years ago I went to Boston. That was a mixed experience. Superb service on the way out, but on the return leg, you might have been on “Don’t Care Airlines”. We were ignored by the cabin crew, and the service was sloppy.
