    Me and my husband had a week long holiday in Barbados this October. Although hurricanes in September gave us the chills, wheather was perfect while we were there. Our experience with Virgin Holidays was five star from booking to coming back home. Booking: I booked the holidays on the internet and it was very easy. Website has a very good layout and easy to use. Resort description was very truthful and staring was appropriate. Virgin does a lot of deals in low season and for the same dates and same resort we saved more than £200 by booking with Virgin instead of BA Holidays. Ah, web exclusive ... more

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Terrible telephone sales staff - shame as it's the traveller's first point of contact.

    Having travelled with Virgin more than once before, I am aware of their impressive list of Hotels and services offered to customers. I obtained a brochure and started to chose hotels for a holiday in Florida. Thinking it would be cheaper and easier to book direct with them, I made my first call to check availability and to get a quote. The first person I spoke was rude, kept me on hold for what seemed like ages and appeared to not care less whether I booked with them or not, but told me none of my dates or hotels were available.     We travelled to barbados with Virgin Holidays back in September 2000 and without doubt, its been the best holiday we have ever had. We were trawling through about 5 million holiday brochures trying to find the perfect hotel to get married at. We were looking at so many companies but found a hotel that caught our eye in the Virgin brochure and this was a Virgin Flagship hotel only available through Virgin so we had no choice but to go with them as we had set our heart in this hotel.     On our third trip to Florida we decided to fly with Virgin Atlantic, having flown with First Choice for the previous two trips. If you are staiying in Orlando, one of the advantages of Virgin is that they fly to Orlando Airport as opposed to the cheaper flights landing at Sanford which is approximately an hours drive from Orlando. After a 9 or more hour flight the sooner you reach your final destination the better.     I went with Virgin Holidays to Mauritius in April this year and as far as travel is concerned I have no issues whatsoever. The legroom in the economy seat was decent; the food was just as good as those served by BA and I have found Virgin staff to be more attentive than BA staff. However, be careful when you book with Virgin Holidays. If you are a Virgin Atlantic Flying Club member, you qualify for 10% discount with Virgin Holidays. I was never made aware of this when I booked my Mauritius trip (I became a Flying Club member prior to the trip), and again I was not made aware of this when I ... more

    As a first time virgineer, i found there website extremely easy to use and it had lots of great information about Orlando, Florida where my partner and myself have wanted to go for some time. I booked the holiday and we received our confirmation immediately by e-mail but then I started worrying being vegetarian on the flight - would they have a meal for me (On another long haul flight with British Airways I booked a Vegetarian Meal but when they got to me they had run out and told me someone obviously had asked for it by accident, so I had 2 bread rolls and some cheese as they had no ... more

    My girlfriend and I booked a holiday with Virgin Holidays. We stayed overnight at a Gatwick Hotel because of the adverse weather conditions. We were due to fly on the 6th January, however the flight was cancelled. Initally we went into Gatwick Airport at 9:00 and were advised that their management were having various meeting and were considering using additional aircraft to fly passenger out but would confirm later in the afternoon.     This is the third time we have booked a holiday with Virgin Holidays. Yes, they can be more expensive than other holiday groups but the reason we have gone back to them again is - the staff are always very helpful. We booked our holiday to Orlando last year, we received a 10% discount for doing it on-line. Then a few months later Virgin were offering free child places (a saving for us of £559). We contacted Virgin and they refunded the cost of the childs place (we had to forfit on-line discount of £251). The last time we went to America with Virgin the flight of 6 hours literally flew in!     I have recently travelled with Virgin Blue in Australia. Even though the airfares are a lot less you know you are paying cheap rates when everything on flight is for sale…… We had to pay for food, drink, headphones, TV (in-flight entertainment). Sure you expect to have some of your services from a normal priced flight cut but not everything….in fact the other airlines were the same price after paying for a drink, something to eat and in-flight entertainment. Next time I would just go with one of the more conventional airlines

    Well after a very early start on the morning of departure we arrived at gatwick aiport at 7 am. We had to be there 3 hours b4 checkin. We arrived and me up with the rest of the party as we were getting married abroad and there were 10 of us in the party. We arrived at the check in desk. Now this is where it became a slight problem. as i still had my maiden name i had to check in my parents and my hubby to be had to check in with his parents.
