For many years we have been to this place and never really appreciated it for its actual beauty.
Virginia Waters is situated on the main A30 just outside of Egham and Sunningdale. The park is part of the The Crown Estate which for many years has belonged to the Royal Family. This particular park has been established since 1066, in the 1700's an artificial lake was introduced which now is the main focal ... ...Valley Gardens is part of Virginia Water and also linked to the RHS Saville Gardens. Now then this is where you can park your car for free and have the use of the toilet facilities. Instead of parking in the main car park we followed the sign for the Saville Garden's. At this entrance you can park for free and walk through to the Valley gardens, or if you wanted to make it an extended day visit Saville Gardens and the admission fee is not bad either ...

Advantages: lovely place to go for a stroll, lots to look at, car park Disadvantages: need to keep dogs on a lead
Virginia Water Lake is the most well known of three lakes in Windsor Great Park, the other two are Obelisk Pond and Johnston's Pond. It is a lovely place to come for a walk or cycle no matter what time of year because the surrounding countryside is beautiful. There is a guided walk which takes you the full four and a half miles around the lake. This takes you past some lovely sites. There is a 100ft Totem Pole at the start of the walk which was sent ... ...I have been to Virginia Water Lakes many times and think it is a great place to visit, especially for families, but beware kids may get tired if you are walking the full four and a half miles. When I last came I brought my two border collies with me and they had a great time too. By the end of the walk they were quite tired, but after a quick swim in the lake to cool off they were fine. Cycling is welcome, but not on all the paths so you need to ...
