Advantages: comfortable room, web tv, data port Disadvantages: overpriced, reservation error
THE W HOTEL – 54th & Lexington - NYC
I have mixed feelings about this hotel. In all fairness, when I visited the lobby was under renovations. This was not a problem for me. What was a problem was that I requested and confirmed two double beds. When I checked in I was told I was getting one king bed. Obviously, depending upon your travelling companion this could be a problem. I was not the only guest to suffer this calamity. Others were arguing ... ...hotel. I had called THE W HOTEL personally and confirmed the bed configuration. (It is always a good idea to call the HOTEL and confirm everything). I told the desk clerk this. We argued briefly. Then, she said, “Well, if you don’t like it you can try to rent another room someplace else”. In NYC---at the last minute---I don’t think so! Advantages: Well positioned, close to a lot of attractions Disadvantages: Dull, no views, pricey
...wall and metal chimney and the concierge often looked like he could not be bothered.
On the whole I would not reccommend this hotel, try alternatives of the Marriott (30 seconds walk away) or its sister hotel the W on Times Square (far supoerior if budget allows). ...
