...and stayed at the the Washington Hotel in Mayfair. Do I reccommend this hotel - well it is good value. I booked direct from their website and it cost £89 plus VAT including full breakfast for two. This is for a 4 star hotel in the heart of London. The foyer is nice, clean, spacious and welcoming and check in was without any hassle. Our room was clean, but the decor in the room was tired. Some chips on the furniture, scuffs on the walls and skirting ... ...also a bit of a satellite TV fand there was only Sky News, CNN and some Indian channels, plus the normal 5 terrestrial channels. Even though Sky Sports was promoted in the room literature it wasn't there, so rather disappointing. The bed was comfortable, but it took a while to get to sleep because of some noisy waterpipes. Quick review of Washington Mayfair Hotel, London
I stay here now and then with my work and it is a high quality London hotel. I cannot comment on prices directly as we get a corporate rate so I don't know what the rack rate is.
It's a great location, just near Green Park, which is where Buckingham Palace is, and walking distance from the very prestigious shopping area of Bond Street.
I would say that the hairdryers are rubbish though - for the amount you pay you'd think they might put a useful one in! ...
