Watford (the town that grew and grew!)

Advantages: Near London and motorways, rail links
Disadvantages: Bad road system, urbanised beyond belief

I was born in Watford and have lived here all my life. It was not a Roman town as someone else has said but was called Cassio in the doomsday book as a piece of land in the parish of St Albans. It was a nice town once but due to urban sprawl of London and the continuous building of retail establishments from the Harlequin centre and Charter Place which was the smaller 1970's version (still part of the major shopping area)to the big retail carbuncles ...
...parks : Cassiobury park( town centre ) Aldenham country park ( four miles north of town) There are plenty of things to do and visit in and around Watford but it depends what floats your boat I hope I have given you and insight into the town. ...

Arriva run loads of bus services into, out of and around Watford. Mainline trains run at watford junction (20 mins Euston - Watford)(30 mins Baker Street - Watford) There is also ...

Wonderful Watford

Advantages: Decent selection of restaurants and bars
Disadvantages: Pubs and bars become too busy at the weekends

Originally a roman town, Watford is a modest market town situated between the outskirts of north-west London and the green belt. Having lived there all my life, I have had no reason to leave, and being so conveiniently located 20 miles north west of London, I have always commuted into London where I work. Watford has a reasonable transport system. Trains and buses generally. Nevertheless, unemployment is low and jobs are plentiful inand around ...
