There were a few people in reception when we arrived and it took about half an hour to be checked in. We stayed here in Feb 2008 after booking through an online travel company. We booked our flights with another online company. We were very happy with this mid-range hotel. It has an impressive exterior but we were slightly disappointed with the room sizes and the staff were not overly friendly - constant tipping required in return for information! We booked up The Wellington Hotel for Seven Nights on the Alpharooms website (cheapest we could find) for two people it came to £920; which is a good price for a week in a mid-range hotel in NYC. ...2006, and for me the Wellington Hotel was a great choice! As I was 18 and it was just me and my partner, we wanted something cheap and cheerful. In the end (including flights) we paid £1,300 for 5 days, which is quite cheap for New York. When we arrived, everyone is really helpful and offer to take your bags to your room (although n.b. you do have to pay tips!). The rooms are really good value and you get the usual tv, kettle, maSSive bed and good ...
