The West Midlands Safari park opened in 1973. The park has got a 4 mile safari and this contains over 600 animals from around 30 different species from Europe, Africa, Asia and others. They have a theme park as well which is next to the safari park as well. They have a reptile and insect house as well which IS easy for people to view and a sea lion area. ...of a driveway, with a West Midland Safari & Leisure Park sign pointing down the drive. My eyes lit up and I reverted back to how I was when I was 8 years old for the remainder of the day! I was so excited!
When you enter the park it seems huge. Once you have paid your entrance fee (detailed later) you have two options; you can either enter the leisure side and enjoy the smaller animal displays/amusements etc. or drive through the animal reserves. ... ...unbelievable. I was in the West Midlands starring right at an African Elephant! The surroundings are so well made that you do feel like you're in Africa. We went on a sunny day so the bright blue sky increased this sensation. This is another member of the 'African Big 5' and is the largest living land animal in the world. This was spectacular and a highlight for me.

...our closest one, and found West Midlands Safari Park.
The biggest plus points of this safari park for me were one, no monkeys to wreck our car! Two, they took Tesco Clubcard Deal vouchers as payment for the entrance fee. I always exchange my vouchers as it saves me a fortune if we fancy a day out, and you get 4 x the value of your points back in deals vouchers. Worth doing if you dont already and fancy a visit to this safari park. Anyway, more about ... ...highly recommend a visit to West Midlands Safari Park. There is plenty to do and we enjoyed it much more than a zoo. You get a ticket for a free return visit for the current season on entry and we will definitely be returning again in the summer when the weather is hopefully better and we can enjoy the park more. And in the future, I will be using my Tesco Clubcard Deals vouchers to return again! ...

...out and we decided that West Midlands Safari Park would be a great idea – we’d been there before and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves so we thought ‘why not?’

I think that west midlands safari park is a wonderful place and great for all ages. It gives children the chance to see and touch animals that are from other climates and are not usually found in this country. All the animals look very healthy, happy and look well cared for with plenty of room to walk and run around. ...i was very little, the West Midlands Safari Park (or WMSP as i will refer to it from now on), has been a place that i have visited fairly frequently. First of all as an excitable small child, then when i was getting into my 'going on scary rides' stage, nowadays to keep my excitable girlfriend happy, ha ha! It has been a regular attraction for me simply because it is within 10 miles of where i have always lived, so it is a very easy place to go for ... ...lovely little town called Bewdley, which is adjacent to Kidderminster, famous for its carpets, and not a lot else. It is about 10-15 miles from Birmingham, and is signposted and easily accessed from the M5 and M42, and also from the M6 (just look for the brown sign with a white elephant). Public transport isn't too great for the park, there are a couple of buses that go there from Kidderminster and Bewdley town centre, and to get there by train you'd ...

...in the heart of the west midlands and is expanded over 200 acres which includes a four mile drive through Safari. If this doesn’t tickle your fancy as you don’t want Rhinos charging at your new car, don’t threat there is also a very impressive theme park which includes some very scary rides (which are animal free!)

The park itself is very well signposted from the M6 and takes ... ...in the morning your drive will either be clear or you may have to be prepared to wait, especially on a Saturday as many people will be travelling in the same direction as you to get to the park.
We arrived at around 11 am and were greeted with a massive sign with the name of the park splayed across it. As you follow the very wide road it becomes sectioned into four lanes. One which is for coaches and the other three for cars. As you arrive there ...

I think it could be better signposted for people who are not from the area but luckily I had Jon (ex taxi driver) to get us safely there.
On arrival we were greeted by a member of staff who asked if we were there for the wedding, I thought it was a strange place to get married but each to their own, thought I would mention this just in case for some strange reason any of my Ciao friends wanted a ... ...the park which is great for people who are wheelchair bound or like me have a pushchair

West Midlands Safari Park
A large safari park between Kidderminster and Bewdly. It's easy to get to from main motorways. It is also signed from most main roads which are easy to follow and take you straight to where you want to be.
You can choose to either drive around the safari park first or go into the main area which has a petting zoo, displays, shops and much more.
Once you get there, there is plentiful parking for both cars and coaches, ... ...can get closer than ever.
West Midlands Safari has a large collection of very rare white lions that can only be seen there. There are also other animals to see including, lions, tigers, wild dogs, wallabies, wild deer, giraffe, zebra and much more. It is quite a long way around the park and you can also go around on a guided tour coach that the safari park runs at regular intervals.
You can go around the safari park as many times as you like but ...

...a day out at the West Midland Safari & Leisure Park. I didn't really know what to expect, some kind of little zoo if I am honest, so the first thing that struck me on arrival was the sheer size of the place, as it covered nearly 200 acres.
It is located just outside Worcester in a place called Bewdley, but in the blink of an eye I felt like I was on the set of Jurassic Park. My second shock was the price...only £6.25 for adults and free for under ... ...was quite flat in the park so suitable for pushchairs and wheelchairs.
A souvenir guide can be bought for £3 and is well worth it.

I've visited West Midlands Safari Park twice this year, both times on a Saturday, and had two great days out! West Midlands Safari Park is situated in Kidderminster, near to the Seven Valley Railway, which is a strange sight to behold when a steam train can be seen in the background while you're watching wild animals from another land. I fully support safari parks as a much kinder alternative to zoos, since the animals are given much more space to ... ...park is proudly showing off four magnificent white lions, its latest conservation project and attraction. VISITING
I suppose that Safari Parks are traditionally seen as children's attractions, but I went with my boyfriend, both of us 18, and we had a great time, and were not the only childless people there!
From other people's tales of horror at the queues on Bank Holiday Mondays, like most places, it would seem the Safari Park is not the place ...

The Location:
West Midlands Safari Park is located in the heart of Worcestershire, and covers roughly 200 acres, much of which is open ground for animals to wander free. The park is clearly signposted from miles away on all major roads, and we didn’t have any trouble finding it.

Value For Money:
It cost us £13.50 for two tickets and we spent roughly six hours in the park. West Midlands Safari Park is part animal-park/zoo and park family theme park and is situated in Bewdley in Worcester. The park contains a 4 mile safari where guests can observe some of the rarest species of African tamed animals on the planet. The park also features a large family-orientated theme park with numerous family sized thrill rides. I am a real sucker for these Theme Park/ Zoo-esque parks dotted in the remoter areas of Ol' Blighty. I think ... ...because of the overall variety. West Midlands Safari Park is a cheery little park situated in the West Midlands (if you hadn't already worked that out, but I am sure that is not the case my fellow readers) and was one of the key stops on my theme park travels on 2008/2009.
