Advantages: Great value and quality food, comfortable and relaxing atmosphere Disadvantages: Uneven service, awkward queue system
Today, I braved the crowds and went shopping in Oxford Street before meeting some friends for lunch. It was absolutely freezing and the shops, as I expected were very crowded. I had a very fruitful morning - Cadburys and Starbucks were handing out free samples and I managed to buy the jumpers I wanted from H & M, although a rather bizarre woman keep following me to see if I put down any of my lovely products. Therefore, when I reached Leicester Square ... ...a great mood and very, very hungry! After talking for about half hour in the cold attempting to decide what we actually wanted to eat and what was suitable for our student budgets, we settled on a pub lunch at The Moon Under Water, a Wetherspoon's branch. J D Wetherspoon
The company opened their first pub in 1979 and now have over 670 pubs spread over the UK. On their website (http://www.jdwetherspoon.co.uk), they argue that the company is 'committed ...

Advantages: Value for money. Nice atmosphere. Comfortable Disadvantages: No Music. Food service can be slow
J.D.Weatherspoon is a national pub chain, with outlets all over England, and reputedly is one of the fastest growing companies of its type in the UK. I havent yet managed to visit all their outlets but I have been to a one of their outlets near Victoria Station in London and a number in Kent such as the Saxon Shore in Herne Bay, the West Gate Inn and the Thomas Ingleby in Canterbury, the Summoner in Sittingbourne and the County Hotel in Ashford. Decor ... ...pleasant,rather trendy, with loads of wood panelling and cute alcoves. The seating is comfortable and there are areas reserved for both non smokers and smokers. The toilets seem to their pride and joy and certainly are well maintained and exceptionally clean. You could almost describe them as groovy. Drinks One of the undoubted attractions od JD Weatherspoon is the very wide range of drinks they serve up. They stock great real ales such as Shepherd ...

Advantages: Cheap prices, reasonable service, etc. etc. Disadvantages: Occasionally - long waits, burnt food, accusatory barmen.
I was dissappointed by the standard of (usually good) service on offer at Wetherspoons' William Morris Pub in Hammersmith.
I'm a student in London so I usually go to Wetherspoons for its cheap prices, and its decent and efficient service. Because they're a reasonably big chain there's one round the corner from my flat its quite handy. Most times I'm pleased with the standards it provides. You can get a good meal and a drink for about three pounds ... ...in some of the others. I won't go on as there are many well written, other opinions if you want to know what Wetherspoons is like on a good day for cheap prices etc. However, there are bad days....
Today the service was terrible! It was a usual Sunday lunchtime, and as I used to work in a similar (but much larger) establishment I know things can get a bit hectic. However, none of the staff seemed at all bothered, and one took five minutes to get ...

Advantages: Cheap drinks!! Disadvantages: No music
Wetherspoon's is probably the most famous pub chain there is for England. It is a relatively new chain of pubs which a law graduate (?!) opened in 1979. Now there are over 500 pubs throughout England. These pubs I have religiously visited for years, because of several reasons;
Value for Money - It’s the cheapest drinking venue, with the exception of a Student Union
Ambiance - The pub is good, either for a quiet drink or a stop off on the ... ...always is delicious
They serve all types of drink possible at brilliant prices, and often have varying deals on them. (I would specify these, but they vary pub to pub and week to week). I would say that apart from abroad and in Student bars it is the cheapest place possible pub-wise. I cannot quote prices off my head, apart from that a bottle of Stella is normally £1-£1.50. You can usually get a round for 4 people for £7.00. They serve food and ...

Advantages: Cheap drinks and cheap, good quality meals Disadvantages: Not the place for a quality night out.
To find a pub in London offering the inexpensive service that Wetherspoons does is priceless. Being a student in London I find money scarce and Wetherspoons’ one price all over the country policy is a very, very good thing.
I started writing this opinion about a week ago and was wholly expecting to go on in the same mould as these first few words, however things have slightly changed (I do mean slightly, I still love the place).
I will start ... ...onto the happenings since. >The Pubs
I have visited five separate Wetherspoons so I guess I cannot say that I am an expert on the subject but I am very choosy about my food and am quite hard to impress on this subject. These pubs were in Norwich, London (three) and Ipswich; they are often in the traditional style but sometimes incorporate modern elegance, on the whole they are well presented but not exactly great looking places. >The Meals

Advantages: great value food and drinks, nice layout and interior, nice staff Disadvantages: Food can come out cold
Whetherspoons has to be the cheapest place to eat and drink in London. Well I have not found any cheaper yet.
Weatherspoons is a chain and they have them all over the country. They have a great menu and serve all kinds of drinks. You name it they are likely to have it.
They have great promotions on during the week and some bottles only cost £1 others are about £1.75. They also do 2 meals for £5.75, £6.50 in central London. You can have Fish and ... ...and curly fries, Lamb Whether burger.
I usually always have the Lamb Whether burger as I feel this is the best value for money, the bigest and most filling dish on the menu. There is no TV's and no music in these pubs so I feel it is a great place to meet and have a chat, especially if it is with someone you haven't seen in ages and you have loads to catch up on.
I know some of their branches do play music on the weekends. These are usually the ...

I love the Wetherspoon pubs! I have the pleasure of living in the middle of London, but still have access to the country in a matter of half an hour.
I find the Wetherspoon pubs of the City of London especially appealing. They still retain their old charm and are steeped in history. I think the best one I have found so far is the Hamilton Hotel, just outside Liverpool Street station in Bishopsgate EC1.
I remember when it actually used to be a hotel, ... ...wonderful as ever. This particular Wetherspoon pub is adequately staffed, having to cope with the onslaught of busy city life where workers come to lunch and travellers and tourists take time out to enjoy London life. Its even open for Sunday lunch, where normally the city shuts down for the weekend.
Unfortunately, staffing does seem to be a problem for some of the other Wetherspoon pubs.

A burger, fries and a pint of Foster's or Theakston Best for £2.99, equivalent to the price of McDonald’s quarter pounder meal deal. I've been to many Wetherspoons pubs all over the UK... and I have to say I've never been let down. Infact I was so impressed... I bought the company (well actually I just bought some shares in the company). No Wetherspoons pubs have music in them which makes them unique, Why? you ask.. Wetherspoons do this to ... ...you'll find yourself talking to people you've never met before.
Quite a few of their pubs have been converted from buildings such as banks, car showrooms, cinemas & parliment buildings. Theres a real feel of class in each pub, no plastic seats in here, its just like being at home. Many of the buildings have won design & food awards... I doubt that McDonalds can say that about any of their outlets! The food quality is everything you'd expect from ...

The Willow Walk is located on Victoria Street, near Victoria Station.
It is one of my favourite pubs, being situated close to my school and often having good deals on beer, wines and spirits. I can often sneak out in lunchtime for a much deserved drink. The barman never checks ID, and the food is tasty. It should be as it costs £6 for a plate of pasta. Conveniently there is a cash machine inside the premises, which means you can piss away all the ...
